The historical drama set during the Second World War centres on three people whose paths cross: a Russian aristocratic emigrant and member of the French resistance, a French collaborator and a high-ranking German SS officer.

The feature film "Krambambuli" is based on the eponymous novella by Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, the script was provided by Felix Mitterer. The main roles are played by Tobias Moretti, Gabriel Barylli and Christine Neubauer.

The Hitler who died in 1945, the old man says, was just one of his six doubles - one for each weekday - while Hitler himself retired into a bunker below the S-Bahn tracks and married a second time.
