Childhood friends Amy and Steve come home from their first semester of college for a relaxed winter break, but must navigate turbulent reunions, unspoken romance, and even an unplanned pregnancy. There's no place like home for the holidays!

Gib, a beer-guzzling slob, and Alison, an uptight Ivy-Leaguer, are an unlikely duo stuck together on a cross-country trip during Christmas break. Restricted to his room at college Ed sneaks out dressed as a girl attracting the attention of Don until he discovers Ed is not a girl and the two get into a fight. Their trainer, Tom, catches his two-star baseball men fighting and breaks benches Ed. The Calford team is up against a strong rival college and Don tricks Ed out of the honor of pitching. For eight innings Calford does well, until Don "blows up," and Ed gets back into the game and wins.

Forced and bribed into this role, they make some friends, the lovely Heather Merriweather, but mostly enemies, among others a whole team of marines, and preppy IVY-leaguers determined to win.

Danny O'Neill and Hank Taylor are rival trumpeters with the Perennials, a college band, and both men are still attending college by failing their exams seven years in a row. In the midst of a performance, Danny spies Ellen Miller who ends up being made band manager. Both men compete for her affections while trying to get the other one fired.
