When Betty's father sees the condescending attitude displayed toward her by a rich family, he decides to get back at them by making them believe that his family has "royal" connections.

Joe and Lil Higgins invest their life savings in a frontier hotel. Upon arrival, the family discovers that the establishment is smack dab in the middle of a ghost town that hasn't seen a human face in years.

It all begins when Joe Higgins, business manager of a prosperous candy-manufacturing firm, is ordered by his pompous boss Ellis to break up the romance between Ellis' son Bill and Joe's daughter Jean. Refusing, Joe quits his job and sets up his own candy company. It's a money-losing enterprise until Joe's wife Lil loses her diamond ring in a batch of candy and offers a $5000 reward to anyone who can retrieve the ring.

In this episode of the Higgins Family series, pandemonium ensues when Ma enters a dog biscuit contest. The prize is a whopping $50,000.

As soon as he regains consciousness, he calls his friend Pippo for help and asks him to invite the group of old friends to join, too. Three guests in a luxury hotel. The highly respected managing director of a computer company, an actor and womanizer and finally a bespectacled murderer who has calculated that a hotel room is the perfect setting for the murder of his victim, a Chinese politician passing through. As luck would have it, the three men swap rooms. As a result, the call girl, who is actually expected by the actor, ends up with the murderer, the respected businesswoman expected by the manager goes to the womanizer and the businessman's real wife, who (unexpectedly) turns up to accompany her husband, suddenly finds herself in the same room as the call girl and the murderer. Events come thick and fast and the murderer, whose glasses have been broken in the confusion, is unable to carry out his murder.

Two journalists marry but the husband grows unhappy when he is left to take care of their child and she focuses on her career.

Shinohara, a young bodybuilder, joins a para-military sect in northern Japan. His instructor, Takizawa, takes a liking to the new recruit. After an early “special” training session the two develop a lasting and loving relationship.

Jil has found great love in the landscape architect Marc. There is only a tiny problem: Marc is not a Jew, and Jil's devout Jewish family would never accept marrying a "goi," a non-Jew. There is only one thing that helps: Marc, son of a German bourgeois family, must pretend that he is also a Jew. After a quick course in terms of traditions and customs, this also seems to work quite well. Jil's family is thrilled with the new friend. But then the dizziness flies up just during a big bar mitzvah celebration - and Jil has to decide.

In the beginning he is popular and showers his subjects with gold coins. But, later on he brings on himself peoples rage when he decides to kill all the noblemen and officials and introduces unreasonable taxes. Russian czar Aleksey starts a military campaign against the bloody despot Ibi. After a defeat, Ubu and his wife escape to France.

In ancient Rome, bathhouse architect Lucius (Hiroshi Abe) becomes famous with designing the original "thermae" (bathhouse). He receives an order to build a thermae in the colosseum to help gladiators recover from their wounds, but faces difficulties. Thus, Lucius travels again to modern day Japan through the time slip. He meets Manami (Aya Ueto) again, who is now a reporter for a magazine which covers bathroom. With the help of the flat face Japanese tribe, Lucius again designs a new thermae. Meanwhile, Emperor Hadrian (Masachika Ichimura) wants to keep the peace with the thermae, but the Senate wants to extend the land by using force. Emperor Hadrian and the Senate now have a confrontation and Rome becomes divided.

In this off-beat musical – a satire that combines fantasy, social observation and songs – a working class man goes to put a deposit on a new house only to find he prefers spending to saving and is happy to spend his money on a few hours of happiness rather than a lifetime's conventionality.

Set in Hawaii, All For Melissa is a touching, beautiful feature film that tells the story of a young man's coming to grips with the reality of his everyday life.
