If middle age has taught Jen Brister anything, it’s that optimism does not come naturally to her. In fact it’s fair to say that her cup is very much half empty and she’s making no attempt to fill it. A group of friends who refuse to be trapped by social conventions find refuge in the home of the only bachelor in the group. Up to a point, because when love intervenes, things take a different turn, they are transformed into sensitive and weak creatures and are fulfilled in a woman's embrace.
