As the railroad builders advance unstoppably through the Arizona desert on their way to the sea, Jill arrives in the small town of Flagstone with the intention of starting a new life.

A sheriff has followed Rudy to arrest him as an accomplice in a series of holdups but eventually finds out that Rudy is innocent and helps him defeat the crooked Morrison.
