Surajmukhi is a 1950 Bollywood film directed by O.P. Dutta, starring Rehana, Shyam, and Gope. Produced by L. Prashad under the Madhuban banner, the film also featured Yashodra Katju and Durga Khote in key roles. The music for the film was composed by Husanlal Bhagatram.

The film, set in the 1980s and 90s, chronicles the transformation of Bombay to Mumbai. The story is a cat and mouse game between a deadly don, Amartya Rao, who doesn’t think twice before killing, and there’s nobody who could stop him and a cop, who is dogging his every step.

When the police are notified, the Saxenas are told that this woman's real name is Ragini, a homicidal killer, wanted by the police. Will Jai be convinced that he was offering to shelter a fugitive from the law?

The film is about the journey of a person and is narrated in three parts from the lens of the protagonist: when he is a teenager, when he is 28 years old, and finally when he is 38. The three periods are synchronized to take place during pivotal movements: first, in 1999, when the first-ever gay pride parade took place in Calcutta, followed in 2009, when the Delhi HC decriminalized homosexuality, and in 2019, a year after the Supreme Court struck down the law that criminalized gay sex throughout India.

Queen Kaikeyi exiles Rama and demands Bharat be king. Bharat, devoted to Rama, refuses the throne and goes to the forest, urging Rama to return. Rama insists on upholding his father's vow. Bharat then rules Ayodhya as Rama's regent, placing Rama's sandals on the throne until his return.

Acharya Abangdev of Avanti has plans of his own, which do not include Alaknanda, as he would like to take the region over and rule over it through Ugrarao. Then the unexpected happens, Aditya is reportedly killed by bandits, and Abangdev announces that Ugrarao be the next king, but at the very moment, Aditya shows up, is crowned the king, and makes sweeping changes to Avanti for the betterment of the people.
