Dead Times

A Turkish immigrant worker has died 1965. The preparation of the body is contrasted with a letter written by his wife in Turkey, which describes the situation and expectations of his family in the homeland. The presentation creates the atmosphere of a parable in which the parting of immigrant worker from his homeland is described, but which could just as well be his return home, as a corpse. The story revolves around the ambivalence of parting and the divergence between the actual events of life and the expectancy and hopes one has of this life. This is shown through the comparison between the hard fact of the immigrant's death and his wife's hopeful expectations of him and his successful return.

One night Mia has a premonition. So after saying a few words of parting at her mother’s grave, she sets out on a cross continent journey, though mountains and jungles in search of her father, who has been trapped in a landslide at a construction site on a remote tropical lake. In the middle of the lake stands the ancient Tree of Life, watched over by innocent, bumbling forest spirits called the Migoo, who grow and change shape as they please, morphing from small childlike beings to petulant giants. The Migoo have been disrupting the construction to protect this sacred site – and now together with Mia they join in a fight to find Mia’s father and save the Tree, with the future of life on Earth hanging in the balance.

Jealous over Mickey's attention to a kitten, Pluto's devil-self argues with his angel-self over whether or not to rescue the kitten when it falls into a well. The angel-self wins, and Pluto is treated like a hero. In the end, he and the kitten become friends.

Milton the cat is walking down the street and notices a yard full of delicious milk, birds, and fish not realizing it is guarded by Pluto. He shows his inferior minded pal Richard the set up and both help themselves to the goodies but are chased out by Pluto. From that point on, they try to get into the yard without waking Pluto using such tactics as sling-shooting Pluto out of the yard with his hammock and underwater diving for fish with a makeshift diving helmet.
