The last words of the gangster Dutch Schultz form the starting point for this animated documentary. The FBI noted these words down on Schultz’ deathbed, in the hope he would betray his colleagues. Here, spoken in the english version by Rutger Hauer, they accompany the sober, pencil drawn animation based on traced (film) images from Schultz’ time: the late 1920s, early 1930s.

Slik Willy combines abstract animation, sound and spoken narration to tell a narrative story. The film uses hand-drawn animation and textures from 35mm transparencies. Final compositing was done using an optical printer.

An elegant home movie, its subject is Breer's apartment which faces the Tappan Zee (T.Z.) Bridge. It is permeated, as are all his films, with subtle humor, eroticism and a sense of imminent chaos and catastrophe.

The film presents a juxtaposition of the author's photographs of Memling's triptych "The Last Judgment." It poses the problem of choosing good and evil. Images of atomic explosions, the rubble of a burned-out city and the mocking laughter of the devil.

The film is narrative-free. Both the sound effects and the images, accompanied by multilingual subtitles and changing like a kaleidoscope, evoke in the viewer's imagination a shooting range where the targets resemble human silhouettes. Lively folk melodies juxtaposed with the sounds of gunshots create a contrast and become a means of expression. The shooters' skills lead to the elimination of their opponents. The funfair comes to an end, traces are covered up, and the ground is leveled. From under layers of accumulated earth (history), the previously seen targets emerge to the surface. They take on the shape of human silhouettes and come to life with color. This image is accompanied by a musical memento—a wail full of regret. Both the image and the music that accompanies the film contain many symbols, so any attempt at an unambiguous interpretation would be a simplification of its reception.

Their exciting treasure hunt is filled with wonder, comedy, thrills and adventure. But, they are followed by the unscrupulous Snarky Sharkskin and his slippery seahorse gang. As resourceful as ever, Olly and Beth manage to overcome all the problems they encounter, survive the storms at sea, make a heroic rescue, and find the glittering rainbow treasure. However, in the end, the treasure hunt leads them to understand that the best treasure of all is family and friendship.

Beyond Beyond is a story about wanting the impossible. A story about a little rabbit boy not old enough to understand the rules of life, who takes up the fight against the most powerful force. While doing so, he learns more and more about life.
