"An Introduction to David Lynch" is a featurette originally released in the 2001 DVD release, Twin Peaks: The First Season. It features interviews with Catherine E. Coulson, Charles Ramirez-Borg, Lesli Linka Glatter, Miguel Ferrer, Michael J. Anderson, Kyle MacLachlan, Duwayne Dunham, Sheryl Lee, Peggy Lipton, and Richard Beymer, each discussing the filmmaking processes and methods of Twin Peaks co-creator David Lynch.

You all know the story about the Great Fire of London. That the fire was started by accident in a bakery on Pudding Lane, and the inferno rapidly engulfed the City of London in September 1666, burnt for four days, destroying everything in its path. But how many of you are aware that at the time many Londoners believed that the fire was started deliberately? And as suspicions grew, London lynch mobs attacked immigrant groups, prompted by a widely-held belief that it was an act of arson committed by a foreign power?

Balkrishna Doshi (1927-2023) is one of India's most influential 20th century architects and recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize. Doshi and his practice Vastu-Shilpa has a portfolio spanning over 70 years, including collaborations with both Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn. The film introduces viewers to his famous buildings and offers an exclusive look into his work process. Doshi shares his sources of inspiration and motivation and is also a brilliant storyteller. His presence of mind, his humor and his wisdom create the image of a man from whom we can not only learn to build humanly, but from whom we can learn – to be human.

The opening ceremony of the 2014 Winter Olympics took place at the Fisht Olympic Stadium in Sochi, Russia, on 7 February 2014. It began at 20:14 MSK (UTC+4) and finished at 23:02 MSK (UTC+4) This was the first Winter Olympics and first Olympic Games opening ceremony under the IOC presidency of Thomas Bach. The Games were officially opened by President Vladimir Putin. An audience of 40,000 were in attendance at the stadium with an estimated 2,000 performers. The ceremony touched upon various aspects of Russian history, and included tributes to famous Russians, such as Peter Tchaikovsky (1840–1893), Ukrainian-born Russian humourist, dramatist, and novelist Nikolai Gogol (1809–1852), filmmaker Sergei Eisenstein (1898–1948), ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky (1889–1950), and patron of arts, and founder of Ballet Russes, Sergei Diaghilev (1872–1929).

Around 1990, a young boy from Jhapa (Eastern Nepal) came to Kathmandu to weave Nepali carpets. After spending some time in Kathmandu, given that he is underage, the boy is laid off from his job. Some people from the Northern Gorkha found him. Assuring him a job as a cowherd, he was taken to Tsum Valley after a two-week walk. From there on, he never returned home from the Mountain.

This really happened, or so it is said. In 1840, a few years after the Portuguese Civil War, a young man arrived at a village by the Douro, carrying a book full of stories. Following the teachings of that book, the villagers of Granja do Tedo founded a social and religious movement that would last seven years, led by the healer Maria das Neves, self-styled “Third Eve, by Jesus Crowned”. The promotion of women’s role in society, the divulgation of naturism, solidarity with the poor and the expansion of free education were some of the movement’s demands. Maria Coroada, Crowned Maria, tells us of the ability to converse with the gods that live inside of us, of the courageous search for voices that transcend us. It also tells us of a book’s power to transform a whole community. And of the beauty of that transformation.

Set in ancient Japan, Rashomon follows the aftermath of a bandit’s attack on a warrior and his wife, as the bandit, the wife, the husband, and a woodcutter each offer different versions of what happened. Directed for "Play of the Week" by Sidney Lumet, the production uses the story’s shifting testimonies to examine truth, self-image, violence, and moral uncertainty.

The ferry "Delphin" is taken over by robbers and their leader Picard right as the boat embarks on its maiden voyage. Instead of a festive casino cruise, the crew and passengers get caught up in a hostage situation. The captain of the coastguard Jan Fehrmann, has to take out the villains in order to regain control of the boat.

Trans is a 1982 Venezuelan documentary short film that offers an intimate look into the lives of a group of trans women and drag performers in Caracas, exploring their experiences in a society marked by transphobia and homophobia. Through interviews and performances, the documentary highlights the resilience and dignity of these women in the face of widespread discrimination and violence. Premiering at the Venezuelan National Cinematheque in 1982, Trans is considered a pioneering work in the representation of the trans community in Latin American cinema.

This film is at once a self-portrait and an homage to Jean-Marie Straub, Farocki's role model and former teacher at the Film Academy.
