Vaikundam Soorya Narayana Iyer, a normal business executive leads a normal family life along with his wife and his mother. One day, up on climbing a tall tree in order to capture an escaped pet parrot, Iyer undergoes (fear of heights) giving him the power of clairvoyance.

An archaeologist extracts a box from the sea which contains mystical powers. However, evil people are in pursuit of the box and create trouble for the former.

Ival Droupadi movie tells the story of Ajitha (Vani Viswanath) whose sister Anitha is brutally raped by a three member gang including a minister, a Police Commissioner and a rich businessman. (Anitha is in love with Sudhi (Shiju) who is a mimicry artist and their neighbour). As can be presumed, Anitha (Sujitha) commits suicide. When she decides to take matters into her hands and seek vengeance for her sister`s death in her own way, her father, for the sake of her safety, dubs her a lunatic and manages to send her to a lunatic asylum.

Ramakrishna (Chiranjeevi) is a mechanic whose life changes when he meets Priya (Anjala Zaveri) at a train station. She sees him and feels some inexplicable connection and runs away with him to flee her father, Mahendra's (Prakash Raj) goons. They end up living in the forest with their son, but her father, who is an underworld don, kidnaps her so that he can marry her off to another don's son. Ramakrishna confronts her father and in the ensueing struggle Priya takes the bullet shot at her husband and dies. Their son, because of the shock, loses his voice and Ramakrishna is jailed. Mahendra takes the boy away to Kolkata, where the story originally started. Rama Krishna with the help of Padmavathi (Soundarya) reunites with his son.

Purappadu deals with social issues between Muslims and Hindus in a village who are forced to relocate when a flood destroys their village.

But in the end he decided to return to Bhilai , but this time taking his mother along. The movie ends he could show the arayannagal to his kids at his home itself.
