A middle-aged housewife and mother of a 12 year old kid struggles to find time for herself to manage between unending housework and a regular ignorant husband.

Morishita Nao (Eguchi Noriko) shares an apartment with a female friend. Her roommate's younger brother Kotaro (Nakamura Kuniaki) leaves their family home and comes to stay with them. That evening, Nao witnesses Kotaro smelling her panties. The next day Nao begins acting provocatively towards him.

This improvised film is based on the true-life suicide of TV personality Art Linkletter's daughter, Diane. Mr. and Mrs. Linkletter fret about their daughter's recent behaviour, which includes taking drugs and dating a lowlife named Jim. Eventually, the parents confront Diane… with tragic consequences.

The Narrator tells us how the radio influenced his childhood in the days before TV. In the New York City of the late 1930s to the New Year's Eve 1944, this coming-of-age tale mixes the narrator's experiences with contemporary anecdotes and urban legends of the radio stars.
