Sylvester Cat must catch mice or lose his happy home. When he can't find a mouse inside, he searches out of doors and comes upon one meek, little mouse who agrees under duress to be Sylvester's one rodent to catch and rough up again and again in front of his masters. But it isn't long before the mouse realizes Sylvester needs him alive and decides to stop being Sylvester's stooge.

A sentry is posted to guard the food supply at a South Pole expedition location, but Chilly Willy the penguin is hungry and has his eyes on the canned sardines and other sea-food choices at the post. Lots of chase and pursuit but Willy ends up well fed.

Smedley is the manager of Balancing Rock Canyon where various boulders are perched atop high poles. But, Tommy the Tortoise, an officer of the law who is a stickler that thinks jail-prisoners should remain in jail, turtles down the road after Moe. And he dogs after Moe, in his own fashion, until he returns Moe to jail...and winds up with Moe's girlfriend in the process.

Smedley, manager of the "Snowtel" where Chilly Willy is visiting, notices Chilly has not paid his bill. When Chilly still refuses to pay, Smedley tries various methods of evicting him but all his attempts are thwarted either by Chilly or his own ineptitude. Eventually, the scenario culminates in Smedley chasing Chilly outside with Chilly tricking him into running into a whale's mouth.

The Coliseum, Rome, 54 A.D. Yosemite Sam, as Captain of the Guard, is ordered by Emperor Nero to find a victim to toss to the lions, or else he'll be the victim. Shortly thereafter Sam encounters Bugs Bunny and decides he will make a good victim.
