Libya: No Escape from Hell

Five Afghan men try to reach Europe. The filmmakers followed them for over six months, filming their clandestine journey and chronicling a migration combining fantasy and stark reality, setbacks and achievements, in the midst of the dangers of such trips.

In the midst of economic prosperity, when Venezuela welcomed millions of migrants, this documentary narrates different realities of the country.

La Chapelle neighbourhood, Paris. Hundreds of exiled people from East Africa survive on the streets, chased violently by the police, yet seeking to defend their rights as asylum seekers. Some months later, having finally obtained their rightful housing, two Sudanese young men return to the sites where they first landed and talk about their arrival in Paris during this agitation.

"While I'm Away" is a first-year student animated short. This short is about the sense of not fully belonging to one place, and missing the other one when you are away. The guilt of moving abroad in the first place. Being the first generation to do this in your family. The constant self-reassurance that you aren’t doing anything wrong but still having no idea how to navigate all this. Re-birth. Alienation. Growth. Guilt. Renewal. Envy.

The EU is investing billions to establish African states as its new border guards. It also supports dictatorships that close their borders in return.

"Our Family" is a film about the time that we can't get back. I left my home along with my friends and family behind in 2017, when I was aged 15 to study in the United States. In some ways I feel like I may have not been best suited to make that decision for myself at the time, but 4 years later, I decided to take this opportunity to reflect on my departure and to reconnect with my family. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I haven't been able to go home to Sikkim in over 2 years. Talking to my parents over WhatsApp, I recorded two interviews with them discussing stories from the collective past of our family as well as individual ones. I was able to discover the love story my parents were a part of before I was even born, recollect the bits and pieces of my childhood that I'm beginning to forget, and process how my departure has affected my relationship with my parents and the course of our lives.

In this documentary about friendship and perseverance, three young transgender women from El Salvador and Honduras go on a 2,400-mile journey with the high-profile migrant caravan. These women, strangers at the outset and fleeing extortion, discrimination, and abusive relationships, endure hardship as they slowly make their way to the US, teaming up with other trans girls along the route and integrating with the caravan’s LGBTQ community.

“Raw City” is an observational documentary set in Gori, where many young people are forced to think about leaving. It explores migration as a real, everyday experience shaped by limited opportunities. Staying often means accepting restrictions, while leaving becomes the only way forward. The film follows artists, students, and young professionals through their daily lives, showing the quiet pressure behind this decision. Without narration, it relies on real moments and observation. At its center is Gori’s Art House, a fragile cultural space that still gives some a reason to stay. “Raw City” presents a city where the future of its young generation is slowly disappearing.

This video research is based on a trip to Morocco in July 2005, during which the director documented irregular migration transiting through Morocco, as well as their control. This geographical project focuses on the main migratory axes: Oujda, entry point for migrants in Morocco; Tangier, from where migrants can try to cross the strait or the fences of Ceuta; Rabat, organization space; and Laayoune, the closest point to the Canaries. The video questions the nature and meaning of these extraterritorial enclaves that structure the Moroccan territory.

The Serengeti is a vast ecosystem, home to a dazzling variety of life, and the site of the largest migration on the planet. Woodland, riverbank forests and swamps provide cover for dozens of mammal species and more than 350 varieties of bird. The fate of these animals is intimately bound with the ever changing landscape. The passage from the rainy season to the dry season means there is no rest and no stability. Those who dwell here must remain in constant motion to survive. For months they live in hope of the returning rains that will put an end to their struggle and reward their efforts.

Espejo de Agua is a non-fiction short film set in Venezuela 's Sinamaica Lagoon, Zulia, where the Añú people are silently displaced due to climate change. Community leader Laura and the inhabitants of the lagoon, inside and outside their homeland, cling to the hope that it is not too late for changes and preserve their ancestral culture.

For years, together with his partners from the production company O Quadro, he has been betting on cinema as a tool to explore the typical issues of youth. In this film, Evandro Scorsin turns the cameras on himself as he deals with the dilemmas of the passing of time and the imposition of adulthood. In an exercise in autofiction where cinema and life merge, the film is also a cinematic love letter to the beloved masters (especially Nicholas Ray). Coming and going between two countries and times, it records the vertigo of displacement and the reinventions inherent to an immigrant experience.
