The night in a big city. A young woman walks alone on a bridge, her gaze unfathomable. She stops, hesitates briefly, then jumps to her death. Under mysterious circumstances, Mara survives the jump and wakes up dazed in hospital. The doctors are strangely reserved when she calls her boyfriend Janis. Mara flees home from the hospital, but finds a completely changed apartment where another woman has taken her place and throws Mara out of the apartment. It slowly becomes clear that no one recognizes Mara, she seems to have completely "fallen out of the world".

This anti-smoking public information film has the kind of stylistic sheen often associated with 1980s British advertising, with its sci-fi setting, filtered smoke and gloomy aesthetics clearly inspired by the works of Ridley Scott (although it’s directed by his contemporary, Barry Myers). It imagines a genetically advanced future humanoid who’s evolved to be a ‘natural born smoker’ – complete with enlarged nostrils and tapping finger - before reminding us that no such creature yet exists. While we expect smoking adverts to be disturbing, the titular character is disquieting in a refreshingly unusual sense.

The sequel to Smoker of the Future, in which he has a child who will take after his father.

On his way home from cram school, he accidently breaks the old bicycle that he is supposed to hand down to his little sister, Tamaki. This angers Tamaki. Furthermore, Tamaki accuses him of telling a lie, and he begins to think of her as a nuisance. One night, when he goes to a shrine to look for his missing dog, Chris, he encounters a young man named Yoyogi. Somehow, Yoyogi has the answer sheet marked as “92nd." Yoyogi proposes a trade, but threatens to return the answer sheet to its original owner unless he is given something Takane doesn't need.
