A tale of murder, crime and punishment set in the summer of 1949. Ed Crane, a barber in a small California town, is dissatisfied with his life, but his wife Doris' infidelity and a mysterious opportunity presents him with a chance to change it.

A wealthy young man rejects the way his mother and sister live, and decides to rebel against this life by marrying a simple Upper Egyptian girl who respects traditions and social customs, which angers his mother and sister and they mistreat the wife, who discovers the relationship between her husband's sister and his friend and tries to mediate to end it.

When 9-year-old orphan Oliver Twist dares to ask his cruel taskmaster, Mr. Bumble, for a second serving of gruel, he's hired out as an apprentice. Escaping that dismal fate, young Oliver falls in with the street urchin known as the Artful Dodger and his criminal mentor, Fagin. When kindly Mr. Brownlow takes Oliver in, Fagin's evil henchman Bill Sikes plots to kidnap the boy.

The sinking of the Titanic is presented in a highly realistic fashion in this tense British drama. Dr. Sami is subjected to harassment and arrogance from his wife, Munira. One of his patients is the singer Nadia, who visits his clinic for treatment. From here, Dr. Sami feels how gentle Nadia is. Dr. Sami's conditions change, and he even becomes preoccupied with Munira. Munira tries to find out the reason for this change, but fails to bring him back home, so she begins to spread rumors and scandals about him.

On one of his trips, Wahid, a forty-year-old journalist, meets Sawsan, a young flight attendant. Admiration grows between them, and love grows, but the age difference between them is an obstacle, as she fears repeating the experience of her mother, who married her father, who was twenty years older than her, and then he died. Sawsan falls ill and is admitted to a hospital, and Wahid goes to visit her. The mother is surprised that he is her lover, whom she loved when she was young, and was unable to marry him.

The events revolve around the character of the girl Nemat (Sabah), who aspires to have a prosperous life to compensate for the suffering she has endured. Neamat pretends to be rich to lure the wealthy young man Hussein (Shukri Sarhan) into falling in love with her. Nemat's plan faces many difficulties and challenges as events unfold.

He is a man incapable of showing his feelings. The mutual attraction is never admitted openly, and his love for Hmone becomes a real problem when a new admirer shows up. Ye Aung, an officer and Myint Thu's old school friend, falls in love with Hmone when he first sees her on stage.

Youthful Father Chuck O'Malley led a colorful life of sports, song, and romance before joining the Roman Catholic clergy. After being appointed to a run-down New York parish, O'Malley's worldly knowledge helps him connect with a gang of boys looking for direction, eventually winning over the aging, conventional Parish priest.
