A film dedicated to the white storks in the Balkan region; the film describes the laying of the eggs, hatching, growing up of the young storks till their leaving, in Autumn, towards the coasts of North Africa.

The scenes filmed during spring 1979 in Kampuchea/Cambodia are part of history: a metropolis left to rampant nature, skull heaps, destroyed faces and cultural landscapes. The reports of the survivors – farmers, states men, teachers and former soldiers - are moving and harrowing.

The Khmer word “angkar” signifies “organization”. The angkar of the Pol-Pot regime acted upon their own, unwritten laws. Records were discovered in the central interrogation and extermination camp “S21”, the former high school Tuol Sleng in Phnom Penh that document the death of 20.000 people.

The Pol Pot regime wanted to erase the 2000 year-old culture of Cambodia. Schools were destroyed, teachers and pupils kidnapped, tortured and killed. In September 1980, the School of Fine Arts reopens in Phnom Penh, in March 1981, there are 110 pupils, among them many orphans.

The last inhabitants of Azinhaga dos Besouros, in the outskirts of Lisbon, don’t have any legal right to rehousing. They live their district’s demolition, where it will be built a rapid access road in the future.

For two years, we filmed in an ancient convent of the seventeenth century, which houses the Conservatory of Music of Lisbon. Moved by our love for this anachronistic place, for the music that is played there and for the richness of its teaching, Il Sogno mio d'amore immerses us into the universe of the transmission of music between teachers and pupils. Sounds and words mingle with gestures, form a unique language and reveal what is most profound in the human being: the expression of his sensibility.
