Ambient Dread, Cosmic Indifference

“And, 'twixt the shadows and frights of nocturnal splendors, My beloved will secretly be hiding. Say what you will, say what you may.” The sound of a distant whistle and theorbo calls a sleeping singer through the empty streets of Stuttgart in a midnight journey to the opera house. ‘dei notturni splendori’ is an experimental opera film made for the Staatsoper Stuttgart in the early months of the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown. Anderson Matthew captures the singer Helene Schneiderman through a midnight dream with a hand-cranked kino camera in an ecstatic 35mm photo roman, in search for her own performance of the Tarquinio Merula madrigal Folle é ben chi se crede from 1638.

John the Baptist finds himself in a Holešovice silo, a wanderer roams across Prague´s brownfields and several women face their fathers.

An experimental shortfilm in line with "Lux Æterna", showcasing the footage from Cecil B. DeMille's "King of the Kings". A voiceover pronunces word "Relax" in a hypnotic tone, which was Lux Æterna's working title. It was shown only once in Paris at L'Étrange Festival, at the opening of "Lux Æterna".

A young man who is still living at his parent’s house wakes up in a very strange situation in the middle of the night. The house is dark and there is no trace of his parents. He searches for them and tries to find out what happened…

A cineastic meeting of two characters who are directly related to each other: Camera (Cinematographer) and Dancer. Both can define space/room, but only through interaction. They meet each other in an abstract setting (a white cube) and start a dramatic play.

"Lost in the Black Hole" is Bangladesh's first-ever symbolic cult horror short film, where the director/artist has experimented on the five metaphoric characters to represent the various meanings of things through expression, symbolism, and numerology.
