This was my first 'real' (i.e. non-student) film. Among the many lessons and takeaways was the thrill of working with a great Savannah-based team. Getting to work with professional actors was its own thrill — the roles called for them to be immersed in an uncomfortable situation and to believably express some unpleasant things. They did not disappoint. Joanna Walchuk is rock-steady as the loving, unappreciated sibling Erica. Covering the most ground is Martin Victor as Marco - fending for himself and his sanity until what seems like an inevitable collapse into chaos. And Virgil Moore steps outside his usual 'grandfatherly type' roles as Monty, delivering a performance that some viewers (to my delight) regard as 'creepy' and 'malevolent'. The film shades information, and leaves questions hanging. This is the first in a series of Monty episodes. More to come.
