Something Like That

Co-directed by Blackwood and Julien, the first full-length feature film by Sankofa Film and Video offers a radical and necessary interrogation into what constitutes 'post-colonial' identity at a time of political and social restlessness in Britain. Set within an isolated desert landscape contrasted with recognizable scenes of the intensity of family life, this vanguard work demonstrates the richness and variety of the black experience; it is a poetic and hard-hitting commentary on the complexities of race, gender and sexuality.

The story starts with the inauguration of the first-ever Mechanical batch in an engineering campus. The batch consists of boys only. Later in the second year of the department, a girl joins and becomes the only girl to be a part of their batch. As the story evolves, the girl grabs all their love and attention and becomes the QUEEN of the batch.

The girl who rescues her turned out to be a new student of the same high school Saori attends. The mysterious new student Yuriko is rumoured to be a "parent killer". Yuriko then leads Saori and her friends to hunt molesters.
