**This review will not contain spoilers.** Kevin Hart makes a return to Netflix with a brand new competition show. With the assistance of his comedic peers - Kumail Nanjiani, Chelsea Handler, Keegan-Michael Key, Tom Segura and Nikki Glaser - Kevin sets out to find the next voice of stand-up comedy by awarding the winner with their very own Netflix special. The premise of the show is admirable and you feel the h[e]art behind it. However, there are obvious tweaks that need to be made in season two. _Tweak 1._ Sketch Comedy During their journey in the show, the finalists went through a series of challenges. In one challenge, the comedians had to prove their comedic chops by roasting NFL legend, Marshawn Lynch. This was a great episode to watch because, viewers were able to see vulnerability from the contestants - especially from those who weren't confident in their roasting skills. This was such an interesting diversion from the stand-up battles, as the process of elimanation was due to performance and nailing the task. Which leads me to ask the question, why have Keegan-Michael Key as a guest judge if there are no sketch comedy challenges? Incorporating this early in the next season, not only diversifies the episodes, but allows us to see more range from the contestants and how they work as a team. _Tweak 2._ Live Voting Over the years, Netflix has had an inane desire to host live events. Switching to a live format when the previous episodes were pre-recorded months in advance isn't a viable way to compete against mammoths such as _America's Got Talent_. Also, demanding audience interaction in the final episodes of a series - when the winners fate is sealed by the viewer - is not fair to contestants with smaller followings. _Tweak 3_. Kevin Hart Hart proves to be an effective mentor and host throughout. His words of wisdom and critique always seemed fair and constructive. However, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the winner was not selected by Kevin but by viewers from across the globe. The show is called _Funny AF with Kevin Hart_ not _Funny AF with whoever happens to be awake at 9PM EST_. As Hart is the one who starts the search, it is only right that he ends it in future. All in all, the talent was brilliant - a true testament to the casting team. The standard was insanely high. Thanks to the show, I've now discovered so many new comics to root for, and I can only imagine what the next season will bring.
