Absorbed, Unnatural, Dismal, Deface, SOK, Wisdom, Detestor ... Names linked to a very specific movement such as Death Metal and to a time and place as the Galicia from the 1990s. In this documentary, through interviews with members of that movement, from band members to producers or fanzine writers, we try to pay homage to an underground movement as Galician Death Metal along the 90s, deepening its history and its stories.

Ring of Fire is about the immense natural force of the great circle of volcanoes and seismic activity that rings the Pacific Ocean and the varied people and cultures who coexist with them. Spectacular volcanic eruptions are featured, including Mount St. Helens, Navidad in Chile, Sakurajima in Japan, and Mount Merapi in Indonesia.

The story of the evolution of tropical rain forests, their recent and rapid destruction, and the intense efforts of scientists to understand them even as they disappear. This film gives viewers a better appreciation of the importance of tropical rain forests on a global scale.

In the Second World War, probably in a concentration camp somewhere, Gary Sinise is a soldier who conducts Jews everyday to some place where only clothes come back, under the eyes of an young prisoner boy (Elijah Wood). This witness disturbs the soldier, driving the story to a tragic and sad end and a new beginning.

O Baleiro

Fogos

A journey to seven of the most geographically dynamic locations on earth. The film features spectacular land forms, diverse wildlife and the people and cultures indigenous to these places. Distinct geographic places include the great island of Madagascar, home to unique limestone pinnacles and the playful lemur; and the greatest desert—the Namib—home of the largest sand dunes in the world that tower majestically over its western border, the Atlantic Ocean. Other locations featured are the great icecap of Greenland, Iguazu Falls in Brazil, the Okavango Delta in Botswana, the Chang Tang Plateau in Tibet, and the Amazon River in South America.

Phyllis is a moving and atmospheric portrait of a ‘psychic’ vampire, a woman obsessed with synthetic Nollywood dramas, that lives alone in Lagos, Nigeria. The central idea of this short experimental film is the practise and significance of wig-wearing in Nollywood film; a practise the director has invested with deeper psychological as well as science-fiction layers. Underpinning this central idea however is a critique of the unforgiving treatment of single women in Nollywood and Nigeria. The film is an example of what the director, Zina Saro-Wiwa, has termed “alt-Nollywood”, a genre that plays with and reworks certain narrative, stylistic and visual conventions of Nollywood. Phyllis explores the gothic possibilities of the Nollywood aesthetic creating a new kind of low-budget atmospheric film that is very much of Nollywood and yet subverts the genre. In 1932, Michel Simon plays in "Boudu sauvé des eaux" under the direction of Jean Renoir. Three years later, he was again invited to don the clothes of the famous tramp on the sets of Boulogne.

A short film produced between September and October of 1969, during the course of the Brazilian military dictatorship. It's authorship remained anonymous for a long time and the precariousness of the production was due because of its clandestinity. The film is a collage of images of popular repression, ruling power violence and its people resistance around the world.

The world is shared among two territories, two states of the being of opposite condition, get strained, are in crisis, to form, to shape what already exists. There’s a wall and there’s always someone who will go and look for what shit is on the other side and maybe on the other side you don’t find what expected. “La Brecha” is a movie that questions the whole concept of artwork while exposing the mechanisms of self-censorship and self-control of the creators at the time of producing their works.
