It was one of only a handful of shows to transfer from Channel 4 (where the pilot edition was shown as part of a sex-themed weekend) to ITV. Each edition featured two different couples being asked personal questions by Maria McErlane about their sex lives. Graham Norton acted as the assistant. One of his roles was keeping the scores.

Brothers in Law is a British television series inspired by the 1955 comedy novel Brothers in Law by Henry Cecil Leon. A BBC Radio 4 adaptation featuring almost the same cast was broadcast for 39 episodes between 1970 and 1972.
