In the early part of this century, Maddelena a teenage Italian girl, is attacked whilst walking in the woods. The attack leaves her mentally scarred and our story flashes forward to the 1940s where Maddelena is still troubled. She disappears one day and her daughter vows to find her.

When her bossy socialite mother-in-law moves in, a soap opera writer’s life becomes real-life drama and a crisis forces them to choose: pride or unity.

In 2006, a 20 year old animal and nature lover ventures into the woods with a camera and a sense of serenity, only to discover that he would emerge with his reality shaken, and that only his footage would be found.
