Overview

Doctor Sleep is an American supernatural horror film written and directed by Mike Flanagan based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King, a sequel to the 1980 film The Shining.

The action of the horror film Doctor Sleep begins its development many years later from the moment the clairvoyant Danny became an involuntary participant in a terrible nightmare. He managed to survive, but the memories haunt him to this day. Danny recalls every time how he witnessed the insanity and death of his father. And this event once and for all changed his view of many things.

Even though many years have passed, the main character still cannot recover from the tragic drama. His heart continues to fill with sad memories, and it oppresses him.

The pressure of the past is so strong that Danny becomes an alcoholic. But the life of the protagonist changes after girl Abra turns to him. She desperately needs help and wants Danny to join her in the fight against a mysterious organization whose members are engaged in the hunt for people with supernatural powers.

Mike Flanagan was able to direct one of the best adaptations of Stephen King's novels. The director managed to combine the books' important elements and the film adaptation into something new and sinister. At the same time, he managed to make not just another horror movie or boring psychological drama but a full of suspense, vigorous action horror with good graphics.
