A young woman, who seems to be upset, holding up the traffic in the middle of a highway. The scene gets more intense when police petrol arrives, and the crowd started to gather around them.

Intrigued by a generous offer, a tightfisted taxi driver steps on a long night's journey with his unusual passenger. As they travel through every corner of this sleepless metropolis, he gradually discovers her gentle secret and realizes that this is probably their "last ride".

This story takes place about 2 and half years after their first encounter. Kijima moved from Tokyo to his parents' house where his sister and her husband live, and Kuzumi, who was a university student, got a job and works in Tokyo as a member of society The two, who had only communicated by letters, reunited in the countryside where Kijima lives.

Things go from bad to worse for over-looked middle child, Abi, when the family car breaks down on a secluded mountain road, en route to her graduation ceremony. Forced to seek help on foot, the group must reevaluate what it means to be a family if they're to have any chance of making it back to civilization.
