Wild Mountain Thyme is an upcoming drama movie directed and written by John Patrick Shanley. It is based on Shanley’s play called Outside Mullingar, premiered on Broadway in 2014, and features Jamie Dornan, Emily Blunt, Jon Hamm, Christopher Walken, and Dearbhla Molloy.
The film Wild Mountain Thyme is set in the vast expanses of Ireland and tells the story of two lovers, Anthony and Rosemary.
Rosemary and Anthony are unhappy lovers whose families are at war with each other over a contested piece of land separating their two farms in Ireland. Anthony works hard on the farm, worn out by his father's constant humiliation. But what's really annoying is his father's threats to hand over the family farm to his American cousin Adam.
At first, Rosemary seems to be angry that Anthony shamed her as a child, but the sparks between them have been haunting young people for years. And when Anthony finally decides to tell Rosemary about his feelings, his cousin Adam appears and invites her on a romantic date in Manhattan.
Film company Bleecker Street has published a trailer for the melodrama Wild Mountain Thyme, which is scheduled to be released on December 11, 2020.
The leading roles in the comedy and romantic film were played by Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Christopher Walken, and Jon Hamm.
