A successful businesswoman in the music industry sees her life fall apart after a young and mysterious woman starts work as her secretary. The scheming girl is totally obsessed by the famous businesswoman and she tries to steal everything from her, including her career.

The host of the local morning talk show Morning Chicago creatively balances family commitment—to her husband John, a hard-working family practice doctor, and their three young children— and career obligations.

Set in the year 2031, this mockumentary looks back at events that ostensibly happened during the first 30 years of the 21st century. The series follows a format that co-creator Armando Iannucci previously used in his satirical year-in-review programme '2004: The Stupid Version'.

Dealing with commercial as well as personal PR, their remit covers everything from political communications to celebrity media relations. Their manipulation skills are tested to the full as they frequently find that their work brings them into conflict with political parties, newspaper editors and celebrities.

In addition to the players, ordinary people with personal stories and star experts will come to the studio, who, together with the players, will try to figure out whether the way they live, what they think about and what decisions they make is normal.
