However, Sefer kidnaps her and takes her by force, and Zekiye, unable to bear this insult to her pride, runs away from home. Sefer searches everywhere but cannot find Zekiye. Some time later, he hears that Zekiye has fallen into a life of prostitution in Istanbul. This time, Sefer searches for her in Istanbul and, just as he is about to give up hope, he encounters Zekiye. He is determined to kill her and restore his honor.

This is one of the tragicomic films of Kemal Sunal who is most "serious-comic" artist of the Turkish cinema. This film also reflects socio-economic and cultural life of the 70's-80's Turkiye. The film obviously talk to Turkish audience but who wonder that era of Turkiye can taste of it. The film underlines of love, friendship and -richness in the poorness- and also is a story about the people who prefers love, instead of money and fortune. The theme and narration may include some populist elements -like most Kemal Sunal films- but generally tells its story as well. The story is familiar to Turkish audience: A young man loves young girl. In most Turkish love films one of the partners is rich or poor according to the other but in this movie both sides are poor and they have many difficulties to reach happy end. In my opinion, these kind of movies always gives hope to people to get over it.

Bin Kere Ölmek

Ömer Kavur's first film Yatik Emine (Emine, The Leaning One), relates the story, set in the years of World War I, of a prostitute exiled in a small town.

Cellat, the Turkish version of Death Wish, sticks fairly close plot wise to the template of the American film, with some scenes and bits of dialogue being almost identical. However, it also deviates from its inspiration at times and is at its most interesting and valuable in these little moments, providing lurid snapshots of a place and a culture.

Their plan is to have Orhan become obsessed with Selma’s beauty and steal his fortune. There are, however, certain things to which the thieves are oblivious. From 1973, it's a Turkish Batman and Robin ignoring a Commissioner Gordon type before fighting a Blofeld-esque villain (bald, strokes cat) while spending their downtime in strip clubs! Yep, there's more nudity in this film than every other Batman movie combined, which admittedly isn't much but we'll take what we can get. For some reason the dynamic duo sometimes have capes and sometimes don't. In one scene Batman even picks up a gun and shoots a couple of bad guys before tucking the gun into his belt. You won't see that in the comics. This time no clips from other films (that I noticed anyway) but lots of music is lifted from elsewhere, including the James Bond theme.
