Stephen Dwoskin

Biography

Stephen Dwoskin was born in New York in 1939 and began making independent shorts there in 1961. In 1964 he followed his research work to London where he settled and participated in the founding of the London Filmmaker’s Co-op. His experimental films, for which he himself does the camera work, play with ideas of desire, sexual and mental solitude and the passage of time. In his films he also explores representation in cinema, performances, personal impressions and his own physical handicap which has been a source of inspiration for him throughout his career. Dwoskin died on 28th June 2012 in London. His sensitive and emancipating works have been the subject of various international presentations.

Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Micah Lyons

Biography

Born in Longview, Texas, Micah Lyons completed his schooling at Hallsville High School. An acting scholarship later led him to Texas State University, where he pursued theatre and film, eventually earning a BFA in Acting. Even before graduating, Micah made his mark in the acting domain, securing roles in plays, indie films, commercials, and network TV shows in Austin and Dallas. In 2011, he married model and actress Brooke Spurlock. Chasing their mutual aspirations, the couple relocated to Los Angeles. The city, rich in opportunities, embraced their talents, casting them in TV shows and commercials. The entrepreneurial spirit in them also flourished as they established their production house, Breath of Life Productions, LLC. Micah's flair for writing became evident as he penned over ten screenplays for their company. Among them is "BUD/S", a narrative focusing on a young man's relentless journey to become a Navy SEAL, primarily to earn the admiration of his strict military father. Family joys were aplenty as the couple welcomed their firstborn, Elijah, in 2013, and two years later, their second child, Finley. 2016 saw Micah in a pivotal role, both off and on-screen. He wrote, produced, and starred in "The Runners", a "Taken"-inspired action/thriller set against the backdrop of East Texas. More than just a film, it represented a cause – highlighting the dire issue of domestic human trafficking. Dedicated to making a tangible impact, the production team undertook initiatives to raise nationwide awareness on the matter, committing a significant slice of the film's earnings to non-profits working relentlessly against this menace. Most recently, Micah showcased his prowess as a producer and actor once again, by producing and taking on the role of Deuce in "Grumpy Old Santa".

Jocky Wilson

Biography

Jocky Wilson (22 March 1950 – 24 March 2012) was a Scottish professional darts player. After turning pro in 1979, he quickly rose to the top of the game, winning the World Professional Darts Championship in 1982, then again in 1989. Wilson competed in all major darts tournaments of the era and won the British Professional Championship a record four times between 1981 and 1988. A contemporary and rival of Eric Bristow, Bob Anderson and John Lowe, Wilson's ungainly appearance and rough-hewn lifestyle belied his prowess in the sport. He was dogged by health problems, however, and suddenly retired from the game in December 1995. Laura Mulvey is a British feminist film theorist. She was educated at St Hilda's College, Oxford. She is currently professor of film and media studies at Birkbeck, University of London. She previously taught at Bulmershe College, the London College of Printing, the University of East Anglia, and the British Film Institute. Mulvey is best known for her essay, "Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema", written in 1973 and published in 1975 in the influential British film theory journal Screen. Mulvey also was prominent as an avant-garde filmmaker in the 1970s and 1980s.

Stephen Arthur Frears (born 20 June 1941) is an English director and producer. He has directed numerous acclaimed films since the early 1980s, including My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), The Grifters (1990), High Fidelity (2000), The Queen (2006), Philomena (2013), Florence Foster Jenkins (2016), and Victoria & Abdul (2017). He has received two nominations for the Academy Award for Best Director. Frears is also known for his work on various television programs, including Fail Safe (2000), The Deal (2003), Muhammad Ali's Greatest Fight (2013), A Very English Scandal (2018), State of the Union (2019), and Quiz (2020). He has received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations, with one win. In 2008, The Daily Telegraph named Frears among the 100 most influential people in British culture.

Monsieur Poulpe, also called Poulpy, is a French television host, comedian, singer, screenwriter and actor, born February 7, 1981 in Rouen (Seine-Maritime). During his childhood, he traveled a lot due to his father's job, who was a gendarmerie officer (he spent several years in Gabon) then settled in Buchy, in Normandy. At the age of eight, he had fun making films in his garden, including parodies of horror films3. A not very studious student, he claims not to have taken most of the baccalaureate exams4. A fan of video games, he works on the Nolife television channel where he plays, among others, in the series Nerdz. He is also known on the Internet through his blog. The origin of his pseudonym: “Since middle school, people have called me The Octopus because I do lots of things: I draw, I write, I play but I seem super soft”. He leaves doubt about his true identity, having given in several interviews and on social networks a potential real name, Camille Pierrandeli6, calling himself Erwan Cohen on various occasions as well, or even Nicolas, Mathieu or Réginald11 but none of them does not seem to be the real one.

Britt Lower (born Brittney Leigh Lower; August 2, 1985) is an American actress known for her role as Liz in Man Seeking Woman and Tanya Sitkowsky in Unforgettable. Lower was born to Steven Lower and face painting artist, Mickey Lower, from Heyworth, Illinois. Lower graduated as Bachelor of Science in Communication from Northwestern University in 2008. Lower has also worked with Upright Citizens Brigade and ImprovOlympic. One of Lower's first two recurring roles was as technology expert Tanya Sitkowsky in the 2011 series, Unforgettable. In 2015, she began what's considered her breakout role in the FXX comedy series Man Seeking Woman. She portrays Liz Greenberg, the sister of the main protagonist Josh Greenberg. It is her first role as a main cast member of a TV series. Lower was signed up for recurring role in Hulu original series Casual in season 2, as Sarah Finn.

Bruno Nuytten

Bruno Nuytten (born 28 August 1945 in Melun, Seine-et-Marne, Île-de-France) is a French cinematographer turned director. Camille Claudel which was Nuytten's first directorial and screenwriting effort, won the César Award for Best film in 1989. The film starred and was co-produced by Isabelle Adjani, with whom he had a son, Barnabé. Adjani won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 39th Berlin International Film Festival for her role in the film. His sophomore directorial effort, Albert Souffre, though also a heavily emotional movie, was set in contemporary times. His 2000 film, Passionnément, starred Charlotte Gainsbourg. His films as cinematographer include Les Valseuses, Barocco, La Meilleure façon de marcher, The Bronte Sisters, Brubaker, Garde à vue, Possession, Fort Saganne, So Long, Stooge (Tchao Pantin), Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources (US title: Manon of the Spring). He won the César Award for Best Cinematography in 1977 and 1984, and was nominated in 1980, 1982, 1985 and 1987. He is currently a professor at France's national film school La Fémis.
