The children Julian, Dick and Anne spends a summer holiday at the Kirrin Farm, where there cousin Georgina lives with her dog Tim, and her parents. The tomboyish Georgina is punished for her poor school performance, and her father hires a private teacher.

Et sted på Fyn, hvor de levende hegn omkranser de bugnede marker, ligger Uglegaarden. Det er den største og rigeste gård i sognet, og den ejes af enken Dora og hendes tre brovtende stedsønner Karl, Viggo og Thomas. Deres faste tilholdssted er landsbyens kro, hvor kropigen Sara må finde sig i deres grovkornede tilnærmelser. De tre brødre har store planer med den lille nabogård Mosegaarden. De har opdaget, at under Mosegaardens magre marker og høje skrænter findes rågrus i store mængder. Chr. Thorup, der ejer stedet, har belånt gården til langt op over skorstene. Nu venter Uglegaards-brødrene bare på det rigtige tidspunkt til at overtage Mosegaarden. Men da Thourps søn, Henrik, uventet dukker op på Mosegaarden, bliver der kastet grus i de tre brødres skumle planer.

A young teacher, Eva Nygaard, arrives in Greenland from Denmark to surprise her fiance, the Doctor Erik Halsøe, but is crushed to find he has not waited for her and he is about to be married to his assisting nurse. Eva travels to a small fishing village to await the next ship back to Denmark. There she enters into a tense and often confrontational relationship with Jens, a quiet moody Dane who manages a trading company outpost. Meanwhile, Jens is trying to persuade a Greenlander named Pavia to become a company fisherman, despite Pavia's fear of alienating his fellow villagers and upsetting the spirit, Qivitoq.

Martin starter en maskinstation - og er straks klar til at hjælpe Martha og hendes mand, da de kommer i økonomiske vanskeligheder. Men den stædige Just vil ikke modtage penge fra Marthas tidligere kæreste. Som sædvanlig i en god Morten Korch-film er der et par hyggelige ´fætre´ - Chr. Arhoff og Peter Malberg - og de finder på mange gode løsninger...

The film is a window into the world of fifteen-year-old Tim, sharing his joys and sorrows and his first encounter with love, during the German occupation of Denmark in World War II.

The four kids, Julian, Dick, Georgina and Anne plus the dog Tim go on a bike-trip without any grownups around, but they are soon followed by a another boy, Richard, who is pursued by kidnappers.

Præsten i Solby låner 2.000 kr. i menighedsrådskassen for at betale for et af sine sognebørns hospitalsophold i Tyskland. Rigmandsdatteren Marianne skal være brudepige i Aalborg og tager fra København mod Jylland. I Solby kører hun for stærkt gennem byen, hvorfor hun kommer ud for et biluheld og lander i præstens have! Hun begynder straks at dirigere rundt med alle i præstegården, hvilket tante Marie bestemt ikke er glad for. Præsten er derimod tiltrukket af pigen. De bader i søen og går til bal sammen, hvilket medfører at fru Larsen tager ind for at tale med biskoppen. Efter at Marianne er taget tilbage til København melder Biskoppen sin ankomst i sognegården. Hvor skal præsten nu finde de 2.000 kr. ? Præsten har dog en del venner der forsøger at hjælpe ham, men han får også uventet hjælp af biskoppen.
