One Hell of an Actor

The film sheds light on the unprecedented history of Croatian cinema, which took place at the table of renowned Zagreb film critic and bohemian Vladimir Vukovic. This circle of film lovers, called Hitchcockers, brought together film directors, critics and theorists who would later become Croatian filmmakers.

Narrated by country music star Luke Bryan, the hour-long documentary SURRENDER ON THE USS MISSOURI focuses on those who witnessed the official Japanese surrender on September 2, 1945, ending World War II. Through interviews with those who served on the battleship, the film follows the USS Missouri from its construction, through varied battles in the Pacific, to its final resting place as a memorial and museum in Pearl Harbor.

Contemporary Croatian artist and performer Siniša Labrović and his wife Snježana Klarić, both in their 50s, decided to move from Croatia to Berlin, without knowing German and without a concrete plan on how to survive in Germany.
