M. K. Thyagaraja Bhagavathar

Biography

Mayavaram Krishnamurthy Thyagaraja Bhagavathar (1 March 1910 – 1 November 1959), also called M.K.T., was an Indian actor, producer and Carnatic music singer. He is considered to be one of the most successful actors in Tamil cinema ever and the first super star of Tamil cinema. Bhagavathar was born in the town of Mayiladuthurai in then Tanjore district of the Madras Presidency, British India. He started his career as a classical singer and stage artist in the late 1920s. In 1934, he made his début in films with the movie Pavalakkodi which turned out to be a hit. From 1934 to 1959, Bhagavathar acted in 14 films of whom 7 were box-office hits. Bhagavathar's 1944 film Haridas ran for three consecutive years at Broadway Theatre, Madras and created the record for the longest continuous run at a single theatre. Bhagavathar was arrested in 1944 as one of the main suspects in the Lakshmikanthan Murder Case and spent three years in prison before being released in 1947after a privy council verdict came in his favour. Bhagavathar's career declined after his arrest and though he did continue to act in Tamil films after his release from prison, none of them did well. Bhagavathar died of diabetes at the age of 49 on 1 November 1959. Bhagavathar was acclaimed for his powerful, melodious voice and the ease with which he could sing high pitch notes. Critics and film historians acknowledge Bhagavathar as the "first superstar of Tamil cinema".

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Shirley Patterson

​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Shirley Patterson, sometimes billed as Shawn Smith, (December 26, 1922 – April 4, 1995) was a Canadian born B-movie actress of the 1940s and 1950s. Patterson began her acting career after being a beauty contestant in pageants in California in 1940. She graduated from the Mar-Ken School in Sherman Oaks, California in 1941, and shortly thereafter she signed a contract with Columbia Pictures. Her career spanned forty films, a small quantity of television appearances, and a serial. A beautiful woman in her youth, Patterson played the role of heroine in the 1943 fifteen chapter Batman serial. In 1944 she starred in The Vigilantes Ride alongside Russell Hayden and Bob Wills. In 1946 she accompanied Eddie Dean and Roscoe Ates in the film Driftin River, and starred with them again that same year in Tumbleweed Trail. Two of her last films was the 1957 movie The Land Unknown, and the 1958 Sci-Fi film It! The Terror from Beyond Space, which also starred Ray "Crash" Corrigan who played a monster from outer space. Patterson had a long fight with cancer in her later years, and died in 1995 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Vera Bergman

Biography

Vera Bergman was born on February 16, 1920 in Berlin, Germany. She was the daughter of the banker and diplomat Carl Bergmann. Vera was trained at the theater school of Max Reinhardt and became a member of the ensemble Deutsches Theater Berlin. After appearing in a feature film in Germany, "Es leuchten die Sterne" (1938), Vera Bergman left Berlin for Rome, Italy. In 1939 she auditioned for Vittorio De Sica, and despite her young age she was chosen for the part of L'insegnate Elisa Malgari in the film "Maddalena... zero in condotta" (1940). Vera Bergman stayed in Italy and performed in another 15 feature films till 1954.

Lalisa Manobal (born Pranpriya Manobal; March 27, 1997), known mononymously as Lisa, is a Thai rapper, singer and dancer. She is a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink, which debuted under YG Entertainment in 2016. Lisa made her solo debut with her single album Lalisa in September 2021, which made her the first female artist to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week in South Korea. Eric Singer (born Eric Doyle Mensinger; May 12, 1958) is a hard rock and heavy metal drummer for the rock band Kiss and formerly for singer Alice Cooper. Over the past two decades, Singer has appeared on over 75 albums and 11 EPs. Singer was born Eric Doyle Mensinger in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in Euclid, Ohio. His father Johnny Mensinger was of German descent and was a local big band leader who played around the area as well as on cruise ships from the States to Europe and back. Young Eric began playing drums from an early age, and was inspired by bands such as Humble Pie, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, The Beatles and Queen and drummers such as John Bonham, Keith Moon, Cozy Powell, Roger Taylor, Bill Ward, and Buddy Rich. Perrette Pradier (born Perrette Marie Mathilde Chevau; 17 April 1938 – 16 January 2013) was a French actress and dubbing director. She is best known for her work as a voice actress which earned her the nickname of "Queen" or "High Priestess" of dubbing. Pradier was born in Hanoi, French Indochina. Two years after making her film début, in 1961, she was awarded the Prix Suzanne Bianchetti as most promising new actress in France for her performance as "Amenita" in the Sacha Guitry film, "Stop Thief." That year she gained further recognition for her role as "Constance Bonacieux" in two films based on the Three Musketeers. Throughout the 1960s, she appeared in a number of films in her native France, then was contracted for Hollywood productions that included the Fred Zinnemann film Behold a Pale Horse (1964) starring luminaries Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, and Omar Sharif. She returned to English-language filming in the Universal Studios thriller, House of Cards (1968) with Orson Welles and George Peppard. In her long career, Perrette Pradier has also worked in live theatre, appearing in plays such as La Bonne Addresse as well as the longest running French play ever produced, Boeing Boeing. In 1994, she was the voice of "Sarafina" in the French version of the Walt Disney Studios animated feature film, The Lion King. Pradier died of a heart attack on 16 January 2013, aged 74, in Rueil-Malmaison, France, a month after being operated for an aneurysm. Clare Grant is a Memphis born actress who grew up heavily involved in the local theater scene. Upon graduating from the University of Memphis for Theater Performance, she had a short modeling career overseas before she began acting professionally after booking a small but pivotal role in Walk the Line, after which, she moved to LA to pursue acting full time. While in Memphis, Clare met local director, Craig Brewer, who cast her in several independent films before casting her in his first studio film Black Snake Moan & then later in his MTV series $5 Cover. Since then, Clare has found luck in LA, booking leading roles in the Emmy award winning Showtime series Masters of Horror as well as several other films and television shows, including voicing characters on Robot Chicken. As a producer, Clare created & starred in the short film Saber, which won two awards in the LucasFilm Star Wars Fan Film Awards. With her creative partners, Team Unicorn, she has helped to create and produce viral sensations such as G33K & G4M3R Girls, A Very Zombie Holiday and Super Harmony.
