Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Diana Rigg

Dame Enid Diana Elizabeth Rigg DBE (20 July 1938 - 10 September 2020) was an English actress. She played Emma Peel in the TV series The Avengers (1965-1968) and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones (2013-2017). She has also had a career in theatre, including playing the title role in Medea, both in London and New York, for which she won the 1994 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play. She was made a CBE in 1988 and a Dame in 1994 for services to drama. Rigg made her professional stage debut in 1957 in The Caucasian Chalk Circle, and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1959. She made her Broadway debut in the 1971 production of Abelard & Heloise. Her film roles include Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1968); Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, wife of James Bond, in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969); Lady Holiday in The Great Muppet Caper (1981); and Arlena Marshall in Evil Under the Sun (1982). She won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for the BBC miniseries Mother Love (1989), and an Emmy Award for her role as Mrs. Danvers in an adaptation of Rebecca (1997). Her other television credits include You, Me and the Apocalypse (2015), Detectorists (2015), and the Doctor Who episode "The Crimson Horror" (2013) with her daughter, Rachael Stirling. Moghadami also starred in several Iranian TV shows such as Madineh (2014), Soghoote Yek Fereshteh (2011), Ashpaz Bashi (2009) and Zire Tigh (2006). Tawfiq Ameen Muhammad Ahmad al-Sheikh Al Deqen was born in the village of Horeen in Berket al-Sab’ Monoufeyya (delta of Egypt). He graduated from the High Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1950. His career started when he was still studying when he played the role of a peasant and then participated in “Dhohoor al-Islaam" (The appearance of Islam) in 1951. Seven years after his graduation, Tawfik joined the Free Theatre Troupe. He also worked with Esma’eel Yasseen in his troupe then joined the National Theatre where he remained member of its troupe until the end of his life. In the National Theatre, he presented “’ Aaelat al-Doghry" (The Dodgers), “Bedaaya wa nehaaya" (Dead among the living), “Sekkat al-salaama" (The safe way), “Al-Mahroussa" i.e. The Blessed”, “’ Afareet Masr al-gedeeda i.e. The demons of Heliopolis”, “Al-farafeer” where he excelled. , “Mash-had men al-guesr" (View from the bridge), “Hesbet Berma" (Berma calculation)”, “Al-naass elly taht" (Downstairs people), “ Kahayal al-dhell" (Shadow plays), “Solaymaan al-Halaby” and “Beer al-sellem" (Stairwell). He was very popular in playing the evil scoundrel role in a very special manner that was assisted by his features thus making him one of the best Arab actors in such roles. As Tawfik grew older his roles changed. He played the role of the helpless father in “’Ala baab al-Wazeer” and the peasant’s role in “Kharaga wa lam ya’od" (Out and never back). His on-screen phrases became idioms in Egypt and all over the Arab world; “Ahla men al-sharaf mafeesh,” “Hambaka” and “Alo ya Omam”.

Franck Lapersonne (a.k.a. Franck de la Personne) (born 29 October 1963) is a French comedian, actor theatre director, and political candidate. Franck de la Personne is the son of Jacques Lapersonne and Jacqueline Charlotte Poinson. He also has brothers and sisters. He graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris. As of February 2017, he openly supports Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election. He is also running in the 2017 French legislative election to represent the Somme for the National Front. He is now a vice president of the party "Les Patriotes" founded by Florian Philippot, the former right-hand man of Marine Le Pen. Leslie McRay (Born in 1946 or 1947) also known as Leslie McRae is a former American actress turned writer and producer as well as an author, noted for her work in low budget movies such as Death Race 2000 (1975) which starred Sylvester Stallone, David Caradine and Martin Kove. The Pam Grier Blaxploitation film Coffy(1973) and Girl in The Golden Boots (1968). She was Miss Hawaii USA 1968 and runner up for Miss World USA 1968. She appeared in 28 projects throughout the late 60s until the mid 70s and retired from acting. She would later return to the industry in 1997 as a writer and producer working on independent projects and documentaries. She also wrote a book called Kept Women: Confessions from a life of Luxury.

Jang Jin-young (Hangul: 장진영; or spelled Chang Jin-yeong; June 14, 1974 – September 1, 2009) was a South Korean actress and model. Her death came after a year-long battle with stomach cancer. Jang began her career as a model, and participated in the 1993 Miss Korea beauty contest, before making the switch into acting. After making her film debut in 1998, Jang received critical praise and won a number of awards for her work. She became only the second winner of two Blue Dragon Film Awards for Best Actress, having won in 2001 for Sorum, and again in 2003 for Singles. As of 2008, Jang was one of the highest paid stars in the Korean film industry, earning in the region of ₩400 million per film. Greenwood's big breakthrough came in 2006 when at age 14 she starred as Penny Philips opposite Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect The Final Act, the two-part conclusion to ITV's long-running series. Critics praised her work in the drama, with David Bianculli of the New York Daily News writing, "The scenes she shares with Mirren are nothing short of phenomenal," and Robert Lloyd of the Los Angeles Times calling her "thoroughly impressive."
