Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Biography

Amin Zendegani (امین زندگانی) was born in a family of artists and musicians in Tehran. He began his artistic activities in 1991 when he entered the Tehran University Faculty of Fine Arts. After gaining four years of experience in stage acting, Amin Zendegani made his small screen debut with Young Lawyers. He also appeared in the dramas Days of being Young, Lost Innocence, The Charmed, and Mokhtarnameh. He has also appeared in the films Actor, Nightmare, and The Kingdom of Solomon the Prophet. In 1996 Amin Zendegani won the Best Actor Award of the Fajr International Film Festival. He is currently one of the singers in the band Haft.

Kiarash Anvari

Biography

Kiarash Anvari (1977, Iran) began his filmmaking career in Iran, completing his first short in 2001. The film went to be shown at the 48th Oberhausen International Short Film Festival in Germany and received praise and attention and was nominated for the best international short film award. In 2003, Anvari relocated to France, where he got his master’s degree in film studies from the University of Provence Aix-Marseille I. He was selected to participate the Berlinale Talent Campus in 2004, where he gained precious knowledge from some well-known names in the industry. He was also recommended by acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami to attend the Berlin Academy of Arts (Akademie der Künste) Young Artist Residency Program in the same year. In 2004 he participated in the Berlinale Talent Campus in Berlin and the Young Artist in Residency Programme of the Akademie der Künste. His films and video arts have been shown at a lot of different festivals, including Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen and the Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art in Rotterdam. The Pot and the Oak (2017) is his first feature film. The film had its premiere in the Bright Future Competition section of the International Film Festival Rotterdam in the same year and was nominated for the Bright Future Award, FIPRESCI Prize, and Netpac Award. The film was also nominated for the FIPRESCI Prize of the Debuts section in Jerusalem Film Festival 2017. Anvari is the co- founder of the Montreal-based production company Sweet Delight Pictures and was nominated for the Emerging Producer Award by the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) in 2017. Anvari also produced and edited Ava, written and directed by Sadaf Foroughi, which had its premiere at TIFF 2017 and won the FIPRESCI Prize of the Discovery section and received honourable mention for the Best Canadian Debut Feature Film. Ava was named one of the top ten Canadian films of 2017 and was nominated for eight significant awards at the Canadian Screen Award 2018, including two nominations for Anvari for Best Achievement in Editing and Best Motion Picture.

Didièr Marouani

Biography

Didier "Ecama" Marouani (born 14 July 1953, in Monaco) is a French composer and musician. Didier started his career as a pop singer and made his first single, "Je suis ton chevalier" with Etienne Roda-Gil as a lyricist in 1975. He followed this by touring with Johnny Hallyday, Claude François and Joe Dassin. In 1977, he formed the band Space and composed all the songs on these albums under the pseudonym Ecama. The title track from the first album, "Magic Fly" reached number 2 on the U.K. Singles Chart and was used as the main theme song of the original Chinese version of Jackie Chan's 1978 film Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (蛇形刁手). This was followed by the albums Deliverance (1977), Just Blue (1978). In 1980 he quit from the band Space after a dispute with producer Jean-Phillip Illiesco. Later, he participated in another electronic venture "Paris-France-Transit" (1982). In 1983, Didier & Space went to the USSR to give 21 concerts for 600,000 people. In 1992, Didier was able to obtain the necessary authorization for a concert in the Red Square in Moscow. Some 360,000 spectators attended this free concert. Throughout the 1980s, Didier Marouani and Space maintained quite a large popularity in France and many European socialist republics including Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania and the Soviet Union). In 1987, Didier composed a new album Space Opera, the first opera composed for synthesizers and choirs. He was able to obtain the participation of both the Red Army Choirs and the Harvard University Choirs (USA) for his album. The album was relayed to the Soviet space station Mir, making the album the first compact disc to be heard in space. The CD had been launched into space together with a CD player with the Russian cosmonauts. Space Opera went on to achieve great success in Europe. In 2001 the new Space album Symphonic Space Dream was performed as a premiere in Kyiv at the Palace "Ukraine" with the participation of the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ukraine with 110 musicians. In 2002, they performed in Moscow at the Kremlin Theater with a capacity of 6,000 people with the participation of the Presidential Symphonic Orchestra. This was followed by a performance in St. Petersburg attended by over 12,000 people. The song "New Direction [Magic Fly Radio Version]" incorporated elements of the track "Magic Fly" performed by U.K. pop group S Club Juniors on their Together CD. 2015 - Didier performed as a special guest on a music show "Znamenie" together with Evgeny Khmara in October Palace, Kyiv. In 2009, a huge concert was held in Moscow at the Olympisky Stadium. In October 2009, Nang Records in England released a Best of Space CD, completely remastered with 14 tracks, followed by a remix album the following month. On 29 November 2016, Russian media reported that Marouani has been detained in Moscow by Russian police following a complaint by Philip Kirkorov with whom Marouani had a disagreement regarding a copyright infringement case. He was released the following day. On 14 May 2021, asteroid 275215 Didiermarouani was named in his honor by the Working Group Small Body Nomenclature.
