Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Mohamed Henedi

Biography

Mohamed Henedy [Arabic: محمد هنيدى‎] is an Egyptian comedy actor born in Giza, Egypt, on 1 February 1965 and has gained a cinematic bachelor's degree. Henedi started his career in 1991 in short appearances in theaters and cinemas, and he achieved huge success in his two films Esma'eleya Rayeh Gaii and Sa'ede Fel Gam'a Al Amrekya. He later starred in the movies Hamam fi Amesterdam, Belya we Demagho el Alya, Saheb Sahbo and Andaleeb Al Dokki. Mohamed Henedi also dubbed the voices of Timon, Mike Wazowski and Homer Simpson for the Egyptian versions of The Lion King, Monsters, Inc., and The Simpsons respectively. After acting in many Egyptian movies, he is famous all over the Arabic world. Yasmine El-Reshidi, of The Wall Street Journal, said that Henedi was "considered the Robert De Niro of the Middle East." Andrew Unsworth

Biography

Andrew Unsworth is one of three full-time organists at the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, where he participates in the daily recital series on the 206-rank Æolian-Skinner organ and accompanies the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square (formerly Mormon Tabernacle Choir) on its weekly radio and television broadcast, "Music and the Spoken Word." Dr. Unsworth was raised in Potsdam, New York, in a family of musicians. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in organ performance and pedagogy from Brigham Young University and master’s and doctoral degrees in historical performance practice from Duke University. Prior to his appointment on Temple Square, he served as organist and assistant director of music at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City and as assistant professor of music history and organ at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He has performed throughout the United States and Europe as a soloist and accompanist, including recitals at regional and national conventions of the Organ Historical Society and American Guild of Organists. His solo organ recording, French and German Masterworks, is available on the Raven label. Dr. Unsworth holds the Associateship certificate from the American Guild of Organists, which also awarded him the S. Lewis Elmer Award. He and his wife, Alison, are the parents of five children.

He is known also for his unrepentant lifelong use of alcohol, LSD, mescaline, and cocaine (among other substances); his love of firearms; his inveterate hatred of Richard Nixon; and his iconoclastic contempt for authoritarianism. While suffering a bout of health problems, he committed suicide in 2005, at the age of 67.

Michel Barnier

Biography

Michel Barnier (born 9 January 1951) is a French politician who served as the European Commission's Head of Task Force for Relations with the United Kingdom (UK Task Force/UKTF) from 2019 to 2021. He previously served as Chief Negotiator, Task Force for the Preparation and Conduct of the Negotiations with the United Kingdom under Article 50 TEU (Task Force 50/TF50) from October 2016 to November 2019. Barnier has served in several French cabinet positions including Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries from 2007 to 2009, Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2004 to 2005, Minister of State for European Affairs from 1995 to 1997 and minister of the environment from 1993 to 1995. He served at European level as European Commissioner for Regional Policy from 1999 to 2004 and European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services from 2010 to 2014. He served as vice president of the European People's Party (EPP) from 2010 to 2015. In August 2021, Barnier announced his candidacy for President of France in the 2022 French presidential election but ultimately failed to win sufficient support at the Republicans' 2021 congress. Barnier was born at La Tronche in the French Alps, into a Gaullist family in 1951. His father was a leather and textiles craftsman. In his youth, Barnier was a scout and choirboy. Barnier graduated from the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris in 1972. Barnier served on the staff of various Gaullist ministers in the 1970s, before being elected in 1978, aged 27, to the French National Assembly as deputy for the Department of Savoie representing the neo-Gaullists, Rally for the Republic (RPR), serving until 1993. Together with Jean-Claude Killy, Barnier organised the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville as co-president of the COJO (Comité d'Organisation des Jeux Olympiques). Barnier first joined the French Cabinet as Minister of the Environment following the Right's landslide victory in the 1993 legislative election. In 1995, Jacques Chirac appointed him secretary of state for European affairs, serving as such until the defeat of the presidential majority in the 1997 legislative election. Barnier then served as a European Commissioner for Regional Policy in the Prodi Commission from 1999 until 31 March 2004. Then he served as Foreign Minister of France in Jean-Pierre Raffarin's government until 5 June 2005 when Dominique de Villepin replaced him with Philippe Douste-Blazy. He considered he was unjustly sanctioned for the victory of the "No" in the French referendum over the European Constitution. In March 2006, Barnier was elected vice president of the European People's Party (EPP) for a three-year term. Under Nicolas Sarkozy's presidency, upon the reshuffle of the French cabinet, caused by the resignation of Alain Juppé after the 2007 French legislative election, he re-joined the French Cabinet as Minister of Agriculture. ... Armand Lanoux

Biography

Armand Lanoux (24 October 1913 - 23 March 1983) was a French writer. Lanoux was born in Paris. Early in life he had several jobs: he was a teacher, designer of candy boxes, bank employee, painter and journalist. He became an editor for the literary Artheme Fayard (1950), editor of the magazine À la page (1964), chaired the Committee on French television in 1958-1959, and was appointed Secretary General of Radio and Television International University. He was a member of the France-USSR Association. He participated in drafting the Code des Usages. He wrote in many genres: the novel, non-fiction, chronicles, drama, poetry (Apollinaire 1953 Chapman prize). From 1957 to 1964, he spent several months a year in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. In 1963, he earned accolades in winning the Prix Goncourt for his novel "When the tide goes out." In 1970, he co-wrote with Marcel Cravenne Lys dans la vallée, directed by Marcel Cravenne, based on the novel by Honoré de Balzac. In 1980, he adapted the novel by Balzac La Peau de chagrin for television, directed by Michel Favart. He died in Champs-sur-Marne, aged 69. Vince Caso lives and works in Los Angeles, where he was raised. Coming up in such a renowned center of the arts, his interest gravitated to acting from a young age, featuring in plays and productions ranging from sketch to Shakespeare from the age of 8. Richard Rossi

Biography

Richard Rossi is an actor, novelist, filmmaker, musician. He played guitar on stage at age 7, wowing audiences with songs like 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow.' Richard is the oldest of 5, and had musician parents, Richard and Dorothy. The Rossi family performed in the bars of their hometown of Pittsburgh. As a teen, Richard acted in films such as 'The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh.' In 1980, Richard formed a duo with his best friend from school, John Walker, and soon "Walker and Rossi" were performing their songs on TV. The Post Gazette compared them to Simon & Garfunkel and called them poets of song. In 1984, Richard married his wife Sherrie in Lynchburg, Virginia. Sherrie saw Walker-Rossi perform at Liberty U., where they were given a standing ovation by the audience of 5,000. Richard & Sherrie moved back to Pgh. in 1986. Richard reached out to his hometown, performing concerts as a guitar-playing maverick minister at the nightclub Graffiti, Station Square, and Soldier's & Sailors. In 1988, Richard and Sherrie became parents. Their daughter Karis was born. Richard was reading the Bible in the original Greek and came to a verse that read 'By grace ('Karis') are you saved.' In March of 1991, their second child, Joshua was born. Richard, Sherrie, Karis, and Joshua hosted dinners for the homeless and Richard hosted his talk-show 'Richard Rossi Live' during evening drive time on WPIT-FM until the station was sold in 1992. The popular program expanded to an international audience and now airs on BlogTalkRadio. Richard formed partnerships with African American ministers and founded the Multi-Cultural Community Coalition to combat racism. Richard's sermons were thespian, an art-form foretelling his future as an actor. In 1996, Richard & family relocated, making a journey to Hollywood. Art became Richard's ministry. Richard's research revealed the Gantry play was inspired by faith healer Aimee Semple McPherson. This led to Richard's writing, directing, & acting in his films on Sister Aimee ('Saving Sister Aimee' and 'Sister Aimee: The Aimee Semple McPherson Story' in 2008) that he made as an allegory for his former life as an evangelist. ABC called Richard the 'Pastor to the Stars' when it leaked out that he was advisor to stars. He released 3 books: his 1st novel, 'Stick Man' a coming-of-age story, a self-help book entitled 'Create Your Life" and his 3rd book 'Sister Aimee.' Musically, he released 3 albums 'Without Her Love,' 'Seasons of My Heart,' & 'The Kingdom Is Near.' He released his film on Roberto Clemente, 'Baseball's Last Hero,' & '10th Anniversary of Sister Aimee' a remastered collection of both of his films on Aimee McPherson. His latest feature "Canaan Land," stars Richard as an evangelist & co-stars Rebecca Holden as Sara Sunday, a female preacher. The film is set for release soon.

Anna Vagena

Biography

Anna Vagena (June 15, 1947, Larissa) is a Greek actress and politician. She is a graduate of the drama schools of the Karolos Koun Art Theater and the National Theater, while she has also studied at the Law School of Athens. He has participated in many theater performances, among them The Glass World, The Churchmen, Triseugeni, Prometheus Bound and Camino Real. Her most important film participation is the lead role in the film Anna's Consul by Pantelis Voulgaris, which won her the award for Best Actress at the Thessaloniki festival in 1979. Other films he has acted in are Visibility Zero, The Great Lover, Operation Kraipe-The Tomb of the Third Reich, Where Do They Go for the Havuza? and The King. In the 1980s he participated in the ERT2 comedy TV series The Vangelitsa Channel, in the ET1 drama series "The Trip That Kills" (1992), while he also acted in various video films. In the period 1996-1997 he participated in Mega's successful series, Because of Honor. In 1999 she founded the "Metaxourgeio" Theater together with her husband Loukianos Kilaidonis. In 2006 he published the book My Thessalian Theater, published by Kedros publications.
