Returning from there, he discovers changes within himself, but within his home town also. Totally lost, he finds no way to make contact with the environment, and suddenly experiences love with the girl who survived all horrors of that war...

The film tells the story of how, from the very start of the war, there was resentment within the ranks over the difference between the conflict in Vietnam and the "good wars" that their fathers had fought. Over time, it became apparent that so many were opposed to the war that they could speak of a movement.

Takase works part-time as a motorcycle courier but plans to switch jobs the next day to become a drug courier with his friend Kono. His final delivery is to pick up original illustrations from an artist named Nana and deliver them to her publisher. However, when Takase arrives at the designated time, the illustrations aren't ready, forcing him to wait around for hours. The artwork is finally completed late at night. With the job done at last, Takase decides to go out for drinks with Nana. Just then, Kono joins them, and the three of them head out into the night.
