A Fairy Tale Told at Night

Legend has it: once upon a time, in a tribe ruled by a wise vladyka, there lived two young men, Rastislav and Ctirad. Both of them loved the daughter of the vladyk, Milica. And she loved Rastislav. So the old vladyka decided to give her in marriage to the one of them who would bring him the skin of a white deer, which would guarantee him eternal youth. And so the young men set out to hunt. And indeed, they soon succeed in catching the deer, but it is protected by a miraculous falcon, which Ctirad slaughters. Only the falcon is actually Kovlad himself, the lord of the Copper Mountain, which hides immense treasures within itself. Because his leg is injured, he cannot return to his kingdom. Rastislav will help him, however, even at the cost of Ctibor returning to the tribe before he does and bidding for Milica's hand. Of course, Kovlad will repay him for his help with a gift of immense value. She gives him a steel sword that will make him the most valiant warrior.

The little tooth trolls Karius and Baktus tries to persuade Jens not to brush his teeth, and their picking wholes in his teeth can go on as planned. If the mother's plea to Jens is winning, the happy days of white bread and syrup is over.

The fairy tale is based on two fairy tales by Božena Němcová, "Righteous Bohumil" and "The Black Princess". It tells the story of a weak king and his wife, whose desire for a child leads her to a conspiracy with the devil. The princess, who grows up under the influence of the "impure" powers, only escapes from their power thanks to her love for the fisherman Radek.

Fortunately, the prince has help from the fairy Fiorella, who helps him in his difficult quest. Fiorella picks up the K3 girls in her carriage and takes them to Fairytale Land, high above the clouds. Could one of the K3 girls be the true love of the handsome prince? Can they break the Cat Queen's curse before the clock strikes twelve?

It's very human and nice story about lofty princess (her father is amiable but incapable - unforgettable performance of S. Neumann) and good, nice, kind and well-principled young king (prince) who tries to make tender her calm heart to get married with her. After being refused (she's very capricious), he conclude to make her better. He start to work as a gardener at her castle (in secret) and successively bring she to her senses...The story continues when already reformed princess and the young king (she learn about his real identity later) have to take refuge from troops, that princess father (old king) has sent (of course he took a bad and mean counsellors advice). They have to take shelter by several ordinary and poor families, which are always very friendly and give them a help... Of course the tale has happy end.

In this film, the people of a Tyrolean town climb up into the nearby mountains, searching for a place where they can hold a picnic and a spring festival: ideally, a place where they can eventually erect dwellings and cultivate crops.
