In his 2015 obituary the New York Times declared him “one of the most accomplished recorders of the American experience.” Howard Greenberg says Feinstein “ occupies high ground in the pantheon of street photography” yet, most people, have never heard of him. A prodigious talent, Feinstein photographed life in all its forms, when and where he wished. Whether this was as a draftee in the Korean War, in a Bebop infused Manhattan loft or rural hippy enclave in upstate NY, Harold’s 35mm black and white photographs captured the essence of life with a with a uniquely humanist eye. The re-discovery of Feinstein’s vast and diverse body of work came in his final years and the film meets him then; in his early 80s and with a zen-like appreciation for the life he lived.

From the bay of the Ross Sea to the ice shelf, from the huge penguin colonies to steaming volcanoes, a life in rhythm with the ice. But the consequences of climate change are slowly becoming apparent here too. While some species are dying, others are spreading. They could bring new viruses and bacteria with them, and new dangers for humans too. The structure of nature has gotten off course. How many generations will still be able to experience the magic of Antarctica?

The documentary reveals the unique artistic collaboration between visual artist JR, former Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter, and choreographer Damien Jalet. By combining their respective talents, they created "Chiroptera": 154 dancers from around the world perched on the scaffolding of the Palais Garnier in Paris. Together, they offer us an extraordinary performance. In the fall of 2023, the Paris Opera asked artist JR to transform the construction site on the façade of the Palais Garnier into a creative playground. By inviting Damien Jalet and Thomas Bangalter to create a performance for 154 dancers with him, he embarks on a human and artistic adventure with complex technical challenges.
