In one continuous shot, SHTTL shows the lives, loves, and inner conflicts within a Yiddish speaking shtetl on the border between Ukraine and Poland - one day before the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union.

During the 15-minute lead-up to a band going on to perform their first headline tour, we follow five band members and the people around them. As things start to go wrong, they have to find a way around the chaos or say goodbye to their entire careers and everything they have worked for.

A silent experimental film, originally made in accompaniment to Josephine Zwaan's '1/4' album release presentation in 2016. The film sees musician Josephine Zwaan persist through a test of endurance, with the foundation of the film being a one-take of her staring deeply into the lens of the camera, haphazardly overlayed and re-framed by graphical elements color-matched to the album's artwork.

Between takes on her first feature film, actress Remi is suddenly given direction that could significantly alter the course of her life. With only ten minutes to decide whether or not to stand up to the director, the film takes an unexpected turn.

The relationships of the characters depicted in the film appear as part of the life of the country. At the same time, the social world is shown from an intimate point of view. The techniques of both fiction and documentary films, as well as television and amateur chronicles were used. The film was played by non-professional actors.
