Dorogu - On the Mystical Paths of Karelia

The Olympean Collection is a visually poetic trilogy set against the vast landscapes of East Africa, following Daisy and a Boy Scout as their search for eternal youth spirals into a surreal odyssey of memory, loss, and transformation.

Ten-year-old girl Olei lives with her grandparents and her only friend – Kaunikki the cow in a withering Karelian village on the shores of the White Sea. Suddenly, the girl's grandfather passes away. While her grandmother, gripped by the bitterness of loss, conducts funeral rituals, Olei seeks solace in Kaunikki’s company. But on the funeral eve Kaunikki disappears, and the only person, who could help find her, is dead.

Veneh is a poetic depiction of transition and the end of childhood. It tells of a young Karelian bride, who is about to leave her home. She is prepared for her wedding, which in Karelia was a long process. The movie follows traditional rituals, colliding the genres of ethnographic and drama film with music and dance video styles.

The Silent Treatment is a story about three characters whose lives are imprisoned in each other’s past. As a victim from Stockholm syndrome, the 18-year-old Belgian girl Tess has developed an obsession with her allegedly kidnapper, the 43-year-old Hungarian Szabolcs. Through the actions of his partner, the 34-year-old Hungarian Andrea, Tess will finally find her peace. Andrea will help the young woman in changing her distorted relationship from obsessional love to a peaceful mind.
