A Timing Tragedy

Lost Mind is an experimental short film, written and directed by Lucas Donnat, that explores the perception of time and memory through the staging of a man's death. The film questions the boundary between reality and imagination. Here, time is no longer linear: the past becomes the memory of a future, and the future becomes the altered continuation of a past already rewritten. Currently in production.

Retour à Walden (Une économie)

This film explores the fundamental role of rhythm and movement in art, drawing parallels between natural phenomena and artistic creation. It demonstrates how artists utilize various elements like line, color, light, and form to evoke a sense of rhythm and motion. Through examples from different art forms, including painting, sculpture, architecture, and film, the transcript highlights techniques such as repetition, alternation, and accent to create dynamic visual experiences that engage the viewer's eye and imbue static works with life.

Created for the exhibition "Nous les Arbres" (2019 – Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain), this film gives a voice to those who live alongside trees, spend time with them, cherish them, observe them, advocate for them, care for them, admire them, or who are perhaps a little weary of living in their midst.

A shapeshifting trip, a many-voiced film, a hallucinatory journey where stories of survival, urgency, fragility, apocalypses and resistance intertwine. First driven by a desire to experience isolation, Shifting Lands gradually became a deeply relational experience. A site for encounters and collisions. An inward and outward wander, made from fragments collected on the road, in Iceland, Northern Quebec, Labrador, Tunisia and elsewhere. What if the unconscious was a place, where we could meet others?

A danced story in which individuals linked around a table, on the roof of a derelict building, take us to the edge of forbidden zones and to the brink of a dream. Inspired by sites located in the Eastern Townships as well as the interior of an abandoned, downtown edifice, the poetic imagination of four young choreographers transforms a legend...

By attempting to travel 2,960 km from southern Quebec to its northernmost point, by bike and skis, in the middle of winter, adventurers Samuel Lalande-Markon and Simon-Pierre Goneau want to reinvest the territory and reflect on the identity and collective relationship that Quebecers have with it. Their journey begins at kilometer marker 720, an obelisk-shaped monument located on the border with the United States, and ends at Cape Anaulirvik, north of Ivujivik, the northernmost point of the Ungava Peninsula. Over the course of a 91-day expedition, they set out to meet the country in all its immensity, splendor and impetuosity, a country that suddenly reveals itself to be less abstract, less distant, more real.
