Armin van Buuren: Ultra Music Festival, Miami

On May 10, 2003, for the first time on our planet, one DJ has filled a soccer stadium with 25,000 people for an 8 hour performance/set. The show featured guest singers, live bands and performers, plus stunning visual effects.

Armin Only is a Dutch all-night dance event featuring solo performance by Armin van Buuren. The event consists of various genres of electronic dance music (but most predominantly Trance Music), light, laser and firework shows and supporting acts of singers/vocalists like Racoon (2005 edition), Ilse de Lange (2006 edition) and Audrey Gallagher performing 'Big Sky' by John O'Callaghan.

On July 5th 2008 the Amsterdam ArenA was filled with the Ocean of White. Against a breathtaking backdrop of waterfalls and fountains, the world's best DJs provided the music, spectacular dance acts and mind-blowing special effects provided the entertainment, and thousands of people were submerged in the magical underwater world.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, they broadcast the show's 100th episode from a DJ booth in the center of New York's Madison Square Garden. The benchmark show sold out in 12 hours and provided the audience with a sneak peek at the group's forthcoming album, We Are All We Need, which is due out early next year on Anjunabeats/Ultra Music. Highlights included exclusive previews of "Quieter is Louder" and "Sacrifice," which can be heard on a recording of the show's set on Soundcloud. Dance music has spread across the world transcending religious & racial barriers connecting to the hearts and souls of millions. People have always felt the rhythm of music and have as a result evolved countless dance styles throughout the ages. Beginning in the late 80's in Melbourne's underground dance music party scene, a revolutionary freestyle dance began to grow and has now developed into the most unique and robust underground dance style since the birth of Breakdancing. The Melbourne Shuffle has no set steps but encourages individuality and imagination, incorporating dance moves from numerous styles such as miming, popping & locking, liquid and breaking.

At the end of the Cold War, something new arised that should influence an entire generation and express their attitude to life. It started with an idea in the underground subculture of Berlin shortly before the fall of the Wall. With the motto "Peace, Joy, Pancakes", Club DJ Dr. Motte and companions launched the first Love Parade. A procession registered as political demonstration with only 150 colorfully dressed people dancing to house and techno. What started out small developed over the years into the largest party on the planet with visitors from all over the world. In 1999, 1.5 million people took part. With the help of interviews with important organizers and contemporary witnesses, the documentary reflects the history of the Love Parade, but also illuminates the dark side of how commerce and money business increasingly destroyed the real spirit, long before the emigration to other cities and the Love Parade disaster of Duisburg in 2010, which caused an era to end in deep grief.

In 2016, Above & Beyond left the electronic music world behind, embarking on an ambitious 'acoustic' world tour that culminated at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles. In front of a sold out crowd and accompanied by a 34-piece orchestra, Above & Beyond showcased two hours of songs from their much-loved archive, completely reimagined for one of the world's most famous stages.
