Harold Holzer

Biography

Harold Holzer (born February 5, 1949) is a scholar of Abraham Lincoln and the political culture of the American Civil War Era. He serves as director of Hunter College's Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute. Holzer previously spent twenty-three years as senior vice president for public affairs at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York before retiring in 2015. In his work as a historian Holzer has authored, co-authored, and edited more than 52 books, and contributed more than 550 articles to magazines and journals, plus chapters and forewords for 60 additional books. Many of his works have received awards, including the Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize and four other awards in 2015 for his book "Lincoln and the Power of the Press." Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Yuvan

Biography

Yuvan is an Indian film actor who works primarily in the Tamil film industry. Before delving into acting he had assisted his director father, Feroze Khan on the movie Thambi Arjuna (2010). He made his acting debut in his father's movie Pasakara Nanbargal (2011). The movie was a critical and commercial failure. He made up for it by starring in director M.Anbazhagans superhit movie Saattai (2012). The movie also included Samuthirakani and Mahima Nambiar in the starcast. Since then Yuvan has starred in movies like Keeripulla (2013), Kadhalai Thavira Verondrum Illa (2014), Kamara Kattu (2015) and Ilami. In 2017 Yuvan stars alongside Saaraa Chetti, Ponvannan and K. Bhagyaraj in Gipsy N Rajkumars movie Ayyanaar Veethi.

Biography

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jude Akuwudike (born 1965) is a Nigerian actor educated in England. He has mostly worked there, on stage and screen. He has appeared in productions of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre. Born in Nigeria, Akuwudike came to England and was educated at St Augustine's College, Westgate-on-Sea, an independent Roman Catholic boarding school. In 1985 he began to train for an acting career at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1987.

Renowned for her classical and contemporary stage work, she received five Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Play. Harris debuted on Broadway in 1945, against the wishes of her mother, who wanted her to be a society debutante. Harris was acclaimed for her performance as an isolated 12-year-old girl in the 1950 play The Member of the Wedding, a role she reprised in the 1952 film of the same name, for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In 1951, her range was demonstrated as Sally Bowles in the original production of I Am a Camera, for which she won her first Tony award. She subsequently appeared in the 1955 film version. Harris gave acclaimed performances in films including The Haunting (1963), and Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967), in which she played opposite Marlon Brando. A method actor, she won Tony awards for The Lark (1956), Forty Carats (1969), The Last of Mrs. Lincoln (1973), and The Belle of Amherst (1977). She was also a Grammy Award winner and a three time Emmy Award winner. Richard Whorf

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Richard Whorf (June 4, 1906 – December 14, 1966) was an American actor, author, director, and designer. Richard was born in Winthrop, Massachusetts to Harry and Sarah (Lee) Whorf. Richards's older brother was the well-known American linguist, Benjamin Lee Whorf. Whorf began his acting career on the Boston stage as a teenager then moving to Broadway when he was 21. Early on, he was in a production of Taming of the Shrew at the Globe Theatre in New York City. He moved to Hollywood and became a contract player in movies of the 1930s and 1940s before becoming a director in 1944. He appeared in Christmas Holiday (1944), Blues in the Night (1941), Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), and Keeper of the Flame (1942). He directed a number of television programs in the 1950s and 1960s, the best known being the CBS hit comedy The Beverly Hillbillies. He also directed the short-lived 1959 syndicated adventure series, Border Patrol, and the 1964-65 television series, Mickey. Whorf directed the unsuccessful 1961 stage comedy, Julia, Jake and Uncle Joe. Whorf's hobby was painting - he sold his first painting at age 15 for US$100. Many of his small town landscape paintings reflected his American worldview and seemed to be inspired by painters like Grant Wood and Norman Rockwell. In the 17 March 1963 TV Channels syndicated rotogravure newspaper magazine, his painting career was profiled and his studio photographed. Bren Foster holds black belts in taekwondo, hapkido, hwarangdo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Best known for being on hit TNT show The Last Ship for four seasons. He has appeared in television series such as Days of Our Lives and Melissa & Joey, and films such as Cedar Boys and Force of Execution. Foster plays Max Rockatansky in the video game Mad Max. In 2015, Foster landed the recurring role of CPO Wolf "Wolf-Man" Taylor on the TNT post-apocalyptic drama series The Last Ship.

After high school graduation her love of acting and dance lead her to the local university to enroll as a theater major. While attending I.U.P.U.I she appeared in television commercials. At the age of 22 she landed her first acting job in Chicago and went to Los Angeles to work for the ABC long running serial GENERAL HOSPITAL. In 2006 she went back to college as a history major at Cal State Northridge. After graduation Kristina wrote, directed, and produced her first full length documentary, CHILDREN OF INTERNMENT with her brother, Joe Crump. In 2015 Kristina joined the cast of Hallmark Channel's WHEN CALLS THE HEART. In 2016 Kristina co produced the feature film THE STORYTELLER. Corinne Masiero (born 3 February 1964) is a French actress. She was born in Douai. She began acting in her late 20s, initially appearing in the theatre before moving on to the screen. She is best known for her lead role in the 2012 film Louise Wimmer, for which she was nominated for the Cesar Award for best actress. She has also had notable roles in Rust and Bone and 11.6. Masiero began acting relatively late in life. She also lived on the streets for a few years before discovering theatre. At the age of 28, after having worked at various odd jobs, she joined a theatre company. Her early roles were in comedies by Georges Feydeau and adaptations of Rainer Werner Fassbinder. In 2014, during the municipal elections, Masiero ran on the Left Front slate in Roubaix. She supported François Ruffin, for La France insoumise during the 2017 French legislative election. At the 2021 Cesar Awards, Masiero stripped naked in protest against the French government's plan of Covid-19 restrictions. David Gamburg

David Gamburg was born on August 6, 1950 in Riga, Latvia. Later he moved to Leningrad, in 1972 he graduated from the theater department of the State Institute of Culture. Krupskaya with a degree in film director. While serving in the Baltic Military District, he was engaged in amateur performances, wrote music and lyrics for the Sprīdītis ensemble. After graduation, he moved to the Riga Polytechnic Institute, where he directed the student theater studio "Monologue". He also staged performances in various theaters. In the late 1970s, he emigrated to the United States with his family. In 1983, during the filming of the film Moscow on the Hudson, he became friends with Robin Williams, whom he initially taught Russian, then became his acting consultant. Further, in 1986, he worked on the film characters of Dolph Lundgren in the films Extremely Active and Masters of the Universe. American and Russian television producer, actor, director, screenwriter. In Russia, he is known mainly as a producer and author of serial documentaries on criminal topics: "Criminal Russia" (1995-2014) and "The investigation was conducted... with Leonid Kanevskiy" (since 2006).
