Chaostage - We Are Punks!

Documentary about Manuel Méndez, better known as Manolo Kabezabolo, a punk artist who in a somewhat implausible way has crossed time, space and fashions, without giving up his essences and principles.

Set against the East Bay punk music scene in the mid 1990s, a story of grit and dreams in a world of violence and desperation.

A "life without work" - this is the idea propagated by the "Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany" (APPD). In order to spread its unique political concept and to make the background to its activities appear transparent and credible to the voting public, the APPD commissioned a renowned film production company to create a loose mixture of subliminal propaganda and sympathetic trivialization. The film was also to focus on the glorification of the APPD politicians appearing in the election campaign in order to create the basis for a profitable cult of personality. A film that makes it crystal clear, compelling and, of course, intentional that the mob is on its way to power.

In their early years, SNFU built an audience across North America through energetic live performances and a dynamic punk sound. Their 1985 debut album ...And No One Else Wanted to Play has remained influential in underground circuits. They grew in popularity following two further studio albums, but disbanded in 1989 due to internal tensions. SNFU reformed two years later, however, in a second incarnation which found greater success. They signed with the prominent indie label Epitaph Records, achieved six-digit record sales and toured in support of larger groups. They became independent in 1997 after the expiration of their contract with Epitaph. They again disbanded in 2005, only to reform two years later.
