Mexican comedian Alfonso Zayas is just one of the many folks in town who are cheating on their spouses, imagining themselves quite clever and secretive, even while unbeknownst to them their spouses are cheating on them in turn! When one of the many women with whom Zayas has a child dies tragically, he attempts to integrate his daughter into one of his other families, calling her his goddaughter. But when his son falls in love with her, the many sexual escapades around town threaten to take a disturbing turn for the worse.

Pancho and Vinci struggle to make money to buy precious stones from a don. However, they end up in trouble when they encounter many people who are trying to get those stones.

Marie (Annie Girardot) teaches high school and has a 16-year-old daughter in her class. Divorced some years previously, she has some vague egalitarian notions about friendship with her students and leaves her door open to them. One of her protégés is found beaten up just outside her door, and an emergency physician comes by to treat her. When her daughter starts seeing someone she doesn't much like, and she begins having a brief affair (her first since the divorce) with the ER doctor, she begins to reconsider her policy.

The lead character Raman (Dileep), is an employee in a rice mill in Pune. He used to carry the rice to the mill for processing on a bicycle. Later he decides to buy an auto rickshaw and goes to his village to borrow money from his mother to buy his dream vehicle.
