A woman is plagued by constant nightmares after moving into a large, suspiciously cheap apartment. The apartment’s terrible secret soon reveals itself through her dreams.

Subbu, a college student, falls in love with the affluent Neeraja. However, things take a turn when he realises that Neeraja's father was responsible for the death of his entire family.

Mr. Vitàl is the sole heir and initially very energetic nephew of an elderly rentier, Uncle Ken, who succumbs to years of excessive enjoyment of the finer things in life, especially too much gin and too much of his young maid Flavie. As the village doctor succinctly sums it up: 'L'Alcool et Flavie' broke Uncle Ken. The title refers to the esophageal ulcer, a result of alcohol abuse, which feels like a ball burning the throat. Although Mr. Vitàl is well aware of the causes of his uncle's demise, he eventually goes down the same path.

A complex web of emotions which unfolds the grounding difference between love & predilection. An underlying, but prominent current of class difference between Indrajit & Zoya, brings clarity to the waters that they're in.

This powerful story of a cooling marriage, determined by the adverse forces of fate and focused on three main characters, touches on such life values as love, infidelity, suffering, and illusion. It tells us that a person must first find peace within themselves in order to have the strength to cope with their surroundings. The screenwriter Jiří Bednář was inspired by Robinson Jeffers' poem Turzovo kotviště (Turzo's Anchorage).

Sofia grew up taking refuge in the river of the village where her grandmother, Salomé, lives. The lightness of summers spent swimming comes to an abrupt end with Salomé's death. Sofia returns to an empty home that is nothing more than a reminder of old routines and mismatched ways of showing love. But, led by the memory of a moment of courage long gone, she is confronted with a final encounter in the night.

Nodar, the man with a fickle character, leaves his wife and children in the village and goes to Kutaisi in search of his fortune. His friend Givi advises Nodar to return to his family, but Nodar wants to live in the city and will start working as a manager of a car factory dancer's circle.

After finishing school, three friends go to Chiatura for work. Two of them start working in a black stone mine, and the third, Bondo, works as a driver in a lumber yard. Friends' paths divide here. With the advice of the warehouse manager, Bondo gets used to easy income and does not shy away from dark affairs.
