This telling of the Passover story explains the Jewish people's liberation from slavery in claymation. Hugo (also known as Pingu Test Film) is an animated short which was the start of what later became the Pingu television series. It was shown on Swiss television network, Schweizer Fernsehen, on October 28th 1980, as an ident that would play before advertisments. The original airing had audio with narration provided by an unknown voice actor, but later releases omitted it.

Sculptress Virginia May is seen making a clay model of a tyrannosaurus rex, which is animated using stop motion, and then fights a stop-motion triceratops. Although Miss May's only known relationship with the movies is this particular short, her contemporary, Willis O'Brien and his student Ray Harryhausen certainly made the field a lively one until computer animation caught up in the 1990s -- and arguably their artistry is still unsurpassed.
