Gérard Filipelli

Biography

Gérard Filippelli (14 December 1942 – 30 March 2021) was a French actor, composer, and singer. In 1964, Filippelli bought an amp from an American soldier in Châteauroux for 500 francs. In 1966, he performed at the Cinéma REX and befriended Jean Sarrus and Gérard Rinaldi. He became sound manager in their group. They formed the acting and singing group Les Charlots, where he stayed until 1997. In 1970, his wife died in an automobile accident. Gérard Filippelli died on 30 March 2021 at the age of 78. Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. He is also known as recurring character "Dandy Jim Buckley" in the series Maverick and as the voice behind the character Alfred Pennyworth in Batman: The Animated Series and associated spin-offs. He also voiced Doctor Octopus in the 1990s Spider-Man animated series and the 2000 PC, Dreamcast and PlayStation Spider-Man action-adventure video game, and Justin Hammer from the second season of the 1994 Iron Man animated series.

Olufemi Ogunsanwo MBE, known professionally as Femi Oguns, is a British playwright, theatre producer and founder of Identity Theatre School and Identity Drama School. As a playwright, his first play Torn has previewed at the Arcola Theatre in Dalston, London. A Romeo and Juliet-style story centred on the Nigerian and Jamaican communities in London, Torn received mixed reviews: The Stage described it as a "lively and relevant new play" but "clunky"; The Times as "street smart" but "a sprawling, chaotic piece of writing desperately in need of the attentions of a disciplined script editor". As an actor, Oguns has had roles in British TV shows Prime Suspect 6: The Last Witness, The Bill and EastEnders and at the Arcola theatre. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire in the 2014 Birthday Honours for services to acting.

Robert Taylor (born Spangler Arlington Brugh; August 5, 1911 – June 8, 1969) was an American film and television actor who was one of the most popular leading men of his time. Taylor began his career in films in 1934 when he signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He won his first leading role the following year in Magnificent Obsession. His popularity increased during the late 1930s and 1940s with appearances in A Yank at Oxford (1938), Waterloo Bridge (1940), and Bataan (1943). During World War II, he served in the United States Naval Air Corps, where he worked as a flight instructor and appeared in instructional films. From 1959 to 1962, he starred in the ABC series The Detectives Starring Robert Taylor. In 1966, he took over hosting duties from his friend Ronald Reagan on the series Death Valley Days. Taylor was married to actress Barbara Stanwyck from 1939 to 1951. He married actress Ursula Thiess in 1954, and they had two children. A chain smoker, Taylor was diagnosed with lung cancer in October 1968. He died of the disease on June 8, 1969 at the age of 57.

Parvathy Omanakuttan is an Indian actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss India 2008 and later became first runner-up at Miss World 2008. She was also awarded the titles of Miss World Asia & Oceania at the Miss World 2008 competition. Parvathy made her cinematic debut through the Bollywood flick United Six directed by Vishal Aryan Singh. She eventually made her Tamil film debut in the 2012 gangster film Billa II, playing Jasmine who, she stated, was "the emotional quotient in David Billa's life".

Jean-Christophe Victor (30 May 1947 – 28 December 2016) was a political scientist focusing on international relations. He was the son of the polar explorer Paul-Emile Victor and the television producer Éliane Decrais. He earned master's degrees in Chinese at the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations, and in political sciences at the University of Paris-1 (1982), as well as a PhD in ethnology on Nepal. He was posted as a diplomat in Afghanistan, worked as policy adviser at NATO in Brussels, and for the Policy Planning Office at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was the founder and the director of LEPAC, the Center for Political Studies and Cartographic Analysis, a Paris-based think tank. The LEPAC trains international managers in the corporate sector for companies such as Veolia, Vinci, Areva, British Petroleum, Cartier, and L’Oréal; and public sector organisations including RATP, Council of Europe, and the European Union. Victor taught geopolitics in France and in several foreign universities. The last books he authored on geopolitics are: "Le dessous des cartes: Itinéraires géopolitiques" (Beneath the Maps: Geopolitical Routes) 2011, Paris; "Political Atlas for Teenagers" 2010, Paris; "Atlas for a Changing World" 2008, Paris, Berlin, Seoul, Tokyo, Taipei. He was the author of a weekly program on the Franco-German channel ARTE and the French international channel TV5Monde, dealing with geopolitics: "Le dessous des cartes" ("Beneath the Maps"). Kathleen Kennedy (born June 5, 1953) is an American film producer and current president of Lucasfilm. In 1981, she co-founded the production company Amblin Entertainment with Steven Spielberg and husband Frank Marshall. Her first film as a producer was E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). She subsequently produced the Jurassic Park franchise, the first two of which became two of the top ten highest-grossing films of the 1990s. In 1992, she co-founded The Kennedy/Marshall Company with her husband Frank Marshall. On October 30, 2012, she became the president of Lucasfilm after The Walt Disney Company acquired the company for over $4 billion. She received the Irving G. Thalberg Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2018. Overall, Kennedy participated in the making of 60 films, mostly as executive producer, that garnered 8 Academy Award nominations and over $11 billion worldwide, including three of the highest-grossing films in motion picture history. Kennedy is second only to Spielberg in domestic box office receipts, with over $7 billion as of January 2018.
