Luca Barbareschi

Biography

Luca Barbareschi (born 28 July 1956 in Montevideo) is an Italian-Uruguayan actor, television presenter, and former member of the Italian Chamber of Deputies. Barbareschi is Jewish. He was one of four actors whom the Italian police believed had been murdered in the making of the 1980 horror film Cannibal Holocaust, where he also abused and killed a young piglet. So realistic was the film that shortly after it was released its director Ruggero Deodato was arrested on suspicions of murder. The actors had signed contracts to stay out of the media for a year in order to fuel rumours that the film was a snuff movie. The court was only convinced that they were alive when the contracts were cancelled and the actors appeared on a television show as proof. In 2008, he was elected as Member of the Italian Parliament at the Chamber of Deputies with Silvio Berlusconi's centre-right party The People of Freedom. In 2010 he joined, with other 32 deputies and 10 senators, the Gianfranco Fini's new party Future and Freedom. He left parliament in 2013. On 11 June 2012 he becomes the protagonist of an attack against Filippo Roma, a journalist. He attacked the cameraman Marco Occhipinti destroying the camera and stealing his personal smartphone, with which he was filming the attack. The police rushed to the scene but without making any arrest, unable to search him for parliamentary immunity. The journalist filed a complaint for theft, but according to some witnesses the cell phone, never returned, would have been destroyed by Barbareschi. On 28 August 2012 in Filicudi a similar event is repeated which sees Barbareschi attack again with kicks and punches the journalist Filippo Roma and hit his cameraman. Christian Lindberg

Biography

Christian Lindberg’s achievements for the trombone can only be compared with those of Paganini for the violin or Liszt for the piano. Having premièred over 300 works for the trombone (including more than 30 composed by Christian himself), recorded over 70 solo CD’s, and having an international solo competition created in his name in Valencia, Spain, Christian Lindberg is today nothing less than a living legend. At an early stage of his career he joined Yo Yo Ma and Gidon Kremer as the BBC Music Magazine’s soloist of the year. In 2000, together with Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis, he was voted by an international poll the greatest brass players of the 20th century. He was the first Swedish instrumentalist ever to be invited to perform as soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In 2007 he was artist in residence at the Musikverein in Vienna – the ‘stronghold’ of traditional classical music. Christian Lindberg has worked with practically every major orchestra and conductor in the world today. For a trombonist to achieve all this before turning 50 is, to say the least, remarkable. Gradually Christian Lindberg has also embarked on two new successful careers as conductor and composer. ( Read more about this on Christian Lindberg’s conductor and composer biographies on this website ) Today Christian Lindberg almost exclusively appears as a soloist in programmes where he conducts himself.  His future schedule contains only a few exclusive soloistic collaborations such as with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam. He now combines his position as chief conductor of the Arctic Symphony Orchestra with guest conducting the foremost international orchestras and working on composition commissions from international orchestras, ensembles and instrumentalists in combination with his activities as an instrumentalist. Parallel with all these activities, Christian Lindberg makes sure he can devote some valuable leisure time with his family at their country residence on a peninsula of the beautiful Stockholm Archipelago.

Rebecca St. James

Biography

Rebecca Jean Smallbone was born on July 26, 1977 in Sydney, Australia, to David and Helen Smallbone. She is the oldest of seven children, five boys and two girls. When she was thirteen years old she was the lead vocalist at the Christian school that she was attending at the time. During that year, Carman asked her to open shows during his Australian tour. That same year she recorded her first album, "Refresh My Heart". The next year, David Smallbone was offered a job in America and the whole family packed up to move with him. Unfortunately, the job soon fell through. With no money to return to Australia, the family began to do odd jobs together such as cleaning houses. Through the next two years, they lived on prayer and not much else. Someone gave them keys to a van and another person paid the bills for the youngest Smallbone child, Libby, to be born in a hospital. At the young age of sixteen, Rebecca was given a record deal and began a career that has, thus far, lasted eleven years. Beginning in 1994 with her self titled debut, Rebecca St. James has impacted thousands of teens and even adults to live radically for God.
