Geoffrey Horne

Biography

Geoffrey Horne is an American actor and acting teacher known for his work in both film and theatre. Born on August 22, 1933, in New York City, Horne grew up in a family of artists, with his mother being a ballet dancer and his father being a painter. Horne developed an interest in acting at a young age and began taking classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. He made his Broadway debut in 1952 in the play "The Happiest Millionaire" and soon after was discovered by director Elia Kazan, who cast him in the film "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957). Horne's performance in "The Bridge on the River Kwai" earned him critical acclaim and led to more film roles, including "Bonjour Tristesse" (1958) and "Two Living, One Dead" (1961). He also continued to work in theatre, appearing in productions of "The Caretaker" and "A View from the Bridge," among others. In the 1960s, Horne moved to Italy and began working in Italian cinema, appearing in films such as "Il Posto" (1961) and "La lunga notte del '43" (1960). He also studied with the legendary acting teacher Lee Strasberg and later became an acting teacher himself, founding the HB Studio in Rome. Horne continued to work in both film and theatre throughout his career, and in 2007 he was honored with a lifetime achievement award by the Rome Film Fest. Jackie Speier

Karen Lorraine Jacqueline Speier (born May 14, 1950) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the U.S. representative for California's 14th congressional district, serving in Congress from 2008 to 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Speier represented much of the territory that her political mentor, Leo Ryan, represented. In 1978, while working as his aide, Speier survived five gunshot wounds when Ryan was assassinated during the Jonestown massacre. Speier was a member of the California State Senate, representing parts of San Francisco and San Mateo counties. On April 8, 2008, she won the special election for the vacated United States House of Representatives seat of the late Congressman Tom Lantos. In 2021, she announced that she would not seek reelection in the 2022 midterm elections.

Matt Hullum (born September 29, 1974) is an independent filmmaker in Austin, Texas. Along with Burnie Burns, he is a co-founder of Rooster Teeth Productions, a company that specializes in machinima, the art using engines from computer and video games to create films. According to news posts and forum discussion on the Rooster Teeth website, he appears to handle most (if not all) of the animation of The Strangerhood. Also, according to Burnie Burns, "He is the closest we get to actual voice acting." Most of the other voice actors only use their ordinary voice, whereas Matt uses his ordinary voice in addition to other strange accents. As a result, he is responsible for a large amount of the voice acting in the various machinima projects at Rooster Teeth.

Bernadette Pérez

Biography

Bernadette Perez is a Native American-Mexican, LGBT, Los Angeles-based Actress, Producer, Director, and Story Teller originally from East Chicago. She began as a stage Actress at the age of twelve. Her first professional role was playing Edna Arkins in Lynda Barry's "The Good Times Are Killing Me", an adolescent girl's coming of age story during a time of racial integration. While continuing stage work, she won the Original Oratory Optimist Speech Contest (just like Julia Roberts did as a young girl). This only pushed her to further continue working as an Actress. She had an opportunity during that time to work as an Actress in events such as pARTners Performing For Life, raising awareness and funds to find a cure for the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This idea of being able to use her craft and voice to make a difference in the world excited her. Eventually, she moved to New York where she landed a small role in her first film. A few months later, she booked the lead in a potential Television Pilot filming in Las Vegas. After completing filming on the Pilot, she moved to Los Angeles and began studying at an Arts Conservatory. She works in Film and Television, and regularly campaigns for equality in the LGBT community, at-risk youth with the Writegirl organization, and diversity and inclusion in the film industry. She has appeared in dozens of films including Meet the Fockers, War of The Worlds, and a multitude of independent films for the SyFy Channel, Amazon, and Netflix. You can catch her on TV as Kelly in the OutTV Network Series Boystown and the soon to be released TV Series: Blackwater featuring an all Native cast. Jess Bush is an Australian actress, model, and visual artist. She is best known for playing Christine Chapel in the television series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Bush was born in Brisbane, Australia, in 1992. She began her career as a model at the age of 19, and appeared in several commercials and fashion shoots. In 2017, she made her acting debut in the Australian soap opera Home and Away. She went on to appear in several other television shows, including The Secret Daughter and Playing for Keeps. Jeff Hardy

American professional wrestler, singer-songwriter, painter, and musician. He is currently signed to WWE, where he performs on the SmackDown brand, and he is one half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions with his brother Matt Hardy. Hardy is best known for his work in the World Wrestling Entertainment. He also worked for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), Ring of Honor (ROH) and several companies on the independent circuit. Before gaining prominence in the WWE, Jeff along with his real life brother Matt, ran and performed for the Organization of Modern Extreme Grappling Arts (OMEGA). The Hardy brothers worked as enhancement talents for the WWF from 1994, and were signed to full-time contracts in 1998. They gained notoriety in the tag team division, partly due to their participation in Tables, Ladders and Chairs matches. With the addition of Lita, the team became known as "Team Xtreme" and continued to rise in popularity. Alongside Matt, Jeff has held twelve world tag team championships between WWE, TNA and ROH. Luís Miguel Cintra

Biography

An iconic actor and stage director in Portugal, Luís Miguel Cintra was born in Madrid, in 1949. His connection to theater began in 1968, at the Faculty of Letters Theater Group, when he was studying Romance Philology at the University of Lisbon. From 1970 to 1972, he attended the Acting Technical Course, in the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, thanks to a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. When he returned to Portugal, he founded, along with Jorge Silva Melo, the Teatro da Cornucópia Company, in 1973, where he directed plays by some of the great names in theater, including Aeschylus, Sophocles, Shakespeare, Brecht, Beckett, Strindberg, and many others, almost always participating as an actor in the plays he directed. At the same time, until the 80s, he was a theater critic for O Tempo e o Modo magazine and he managed the Seara Nova Theater Collection, from Estampa publishing house, and the Theater Collection, from Ulmeiro publishing house. As a reader, Luís Miguel Cintra recorded complete readings of Viagens na Minha Terra, by Almeida Garrett and Amor de Perdição, by Camilo Castelo Branco, as well as poems by Pessoa, Sophia de Mello Breyner, Camões, Antero de Quental and Ruy Belo. In 1987, Cintra made his debut as an opera stage director, with L'Enfant et les Sortilèges, by Ravel and Dido and Aeneas, by Purcell, at the Teatro Nacional de S. Carlos. In the following years, he directed operas by Mozart, Haydn, Cherubini, among others. He worked with the Teatro Nacional de S. Carlos Choir and the Gulbenkian Choir, as a reader, in recitals by authors such as Schubert, Liszt, Sati and Poulenc. In 1984, he entered the Venice Biennial Theater Festival with his group and in 1988 he directed the show La Mort du Prince et Autres Fragments, by Fernando Pessoa, for the Avignon Festival. Later, he kept on presenting plays in Italy, France, Spain and. Belgium In addition to the theater, Luís Miguel Cintra began his career in cinema early, making his debut in a short film by João César Monteiro. From that point until now, he worked in over 70 films, with directors like the aforementioned João César Monteiro, Paulo Rocha, Manoel de Oliveira, Joaquim Pinto, João Botelho, Teresa Villaverde, Pedro Costa and the American John Malkovich. His many awards include two Bordalo da Casa da Imprensa Awards for Best Acting in Film (1995) and Best Acting in Theater (1997), two Globos de Ouro for Theater Personality of the Year (1999) and Best Theater Actor (2003), the Coimbra University Award and the Pessoa Prize, both in 2005.
